Elton John is a pure CLASSIC!!!!!!!
I love his early stuff....magical music it is......
But I will say this: His last 2 C.D.'s "Peachtree Road" and "The Captain &
      the Kid" are excellent!!!!
Too bad people only ever want to listen to the "old" tunes!
This happens a lot I have seen, people just want to live off the "good 'ol days".......sure, they made great music a long time ago, BUT, they still
are making great music these days!
      Paul and Elton are anyway.
What's wrong with people today--they don't want to give the new music a
      chance?!

Anyway....I love Elton's NEW c.d.'s as well as his old classic stuff.....

      How about you?

I Love Elton John His Music Is Great I Have His Greatest Hits Cd 1970- 2002!

God, I love Elton! His new stuff rocks! My boyfriend and I both love to cruise on Saturday listening to 'Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting'. Loved him as the Pinball Wizard, too!

Elton John has always been one of my favorites. I grew up listening to him. My mom loves his stuff. My Myspace name right now is Benny and the Jet.

I'd love to see him live someday. The closest stuff he has to me is the gig he has going on in Vegas.

Elton John is great. I love all his music, from the start of his career to his current hits

                I saw Elton in D.C. in 2005 - bout a month before I saw Paul....great month!

I love his new cd as well...........saw him this past year for the first time live.what a great show.......

blow away:Elton John is a pure CLASSIC!!!!!!!

My parents travel to Las Vegas to watch his show once a year, they absoluetly LOVE it!
..hopefully i can go one day..but the point was that he plays his new and old intertwined...if you haven't seen him..i bet you would love that!

His tribute to John Lennon, "Empty Garden" is great. It's the only song I know of his though... and there was a thing about him on VH1 Classic recently... "The Elton John Story".

For my money most of what Elton did up until 1990 was good. Since 1990, ah.....not so much.

He went too Disney and Adult Contemporary for the most part.

                          I agree with you Ed.

Elton is still great live in my honest opinion, one of the few that still rivals Paul when it comes to live shows. He has a dvd coming out next Monday in US of his brilliant 60th Birthday show from MSG that I went to, if you are elsewhere the dvd is out. Check out Amazon for detailed information on a couple different versions. Also his version of Blueberry Hill on that Fats Domino tribute that Paul/John are on, is also very good too.

PS- Elton now has an official myspace page too

                            www.myspace.com/eltonjohn

                              I love his music,
but his voice is pretty much shot.

I like early to mid-70s Elton mostly. Some of the 90s and newer stuff is good as well.

I saw him live in 2005, and he put on a great show. He even played "Funeral for a friend/ love lies bleeding", one of my absolute favourites.

Have you seen him live, blow away?

                                  i love his 70's- 80's period...i really like 'my father's gun'...haven't kept up w/his newer stuff..

                                    [color=darkcyan][size=16]tiny dancer

in the movie "almost famous" the band is mad at each other..'tiny dancer' comes on the radio..slowly, one by one, they start singing..by the time the chorus comes..the whole bus is loudly singing along...a great moment

Elton is a classic Icon just like Paul is.
In fact, in would be really cool if Paul & Elton did a tour together!
Like Elton did with Billy Joel in the 90's.
                                      That would be awesome!!!
                                      ...just a thought.....

and for those who say his latest c.d.'s are not so good.....you just haven't
listened to them. His latest, "The Captain & the Kid" is a masterpiece!!!

sadly, I have never seen him live.... .....oh well, one day maybe!!

Have you been to any great concerts recently?

i saw Elton at the red piano venue at the coleseum in Las Vegas earlier this year!!!.(when i went to see the Beatles LOVE musical)..it was a small venue and he put on a good show, however, i would have loved to see him at a larger venue like madison square garden.
