From what a few fans on Instagram have posted, they saw Paul at that restaurant, having a meal, and Dolly was with Lisa Perry at another booth at the same time.  They could have said hello and exchanged pleasantries, but Paul and Dolly  weren't sharing a meal at the same table.

It's Linda Perry (not Lisa) & she's married to Sara Gilbert. She is also in 4 non Blondes. Linda, Dolly & Paul...all great songwriters. Here's a song of Linda's you may have heard:

Just found a youtube where Dolly said that yes, they had dinner with Paul & that Linda picked up the tab!

I wish the youtube links stayed instead of disappearing.

Thanks Oobu, I think the video you posted above is same as TMZ video.   Appreciate the correction about Linda Perry, not Lisa Perry... I knew that but for some reason made a typo

This is a post a fan made on Instagram, which made it look like Paul and Dolly were in separate booths.

Last night.... some of our friends [were] at my favorite Vegan restaurant in West Hollywood to kick off my birthday weekend celebrations. Right when we arrive, I notice Paul McCartney next to me. THEN, Andrew notices Dolly Parton! Of course, my heart starts beating so fast....  I mean this is a small restaurant where Paul McCartney and Dolly Parton only have one booth between them. Then, they sit us at that booth!!! Long story short, Dolly kept making eye contact with me, THEN I see her walking over to our table. I can’t even imagine the look on my face. There she is, standing in front of me & says “I wanted to come over & wish the gorgeous birthday girl a Happy Birthday!” then has some conversation with us. She goes on about her way & I look over my shoulder and Paul McCartney gives me a wave and a salute. He just saw Dolly speak to me so I guess he felt the need to do something as well ?!....

That was really nice of Dolly to talk to this fan on her birthday.  And she got a wave and a salute  from Paul as well, it  seemed a nice gesture from the heart!   Anyway, sounds like she had a really nice  birthday, one that she'll no doubt never forget!

Thanks Leslie. But who knows who is telling the truth.

And we can't forget that Paul & Dolly have sung together before on a Yusuf song.

And again, the youtube button is here but the video will vanish in 30 minutes or so.

And of course there was Paul and Linda's stay in Nashville, in 1974, when they met Dolly and Porter Waggoner at the Grand Ole Opry
