Found out about "resistant starch" which supposedly lowers blood sugar and blood pressure. It happens when you let a baked potato cool for several minutes instead of consuming it hot, and also lowers the calorie count, and if you let a cup of cooked pasta cool before consumption it's claimed the calories will total 100 instead of 200.
Impressive benefits. Can be bought as a special flour to use.

love2travel:Susie there is a green tea extract you can buy, or order online. It comes with a dropper and you can put a dropper full of the green tea extract in lots of things!

Just switched permanently to Almond milk. Didn't know that our milk is banned in Europe Trying to figure out what to do with baking now? Any pointers would be great. Thanks!

Great idea about the green tea extract, thanks! I got a nice buzz the first time I tried sugar free green iced tea.

. Green tea is sooo good for you.

You can make spaghetti pasta from spaghetti squash, cauliflower and zucchini and it's much better for you than the regular grain noodles.

Yes, I agree, about green tea

Technically, you're not even supposed to eat hot food. It's all supposed to be better at room temperature.

Hailey Mc., what are "moon cakes" ? We have moon pies in the South U.S.A. Tastes like the moon pie is made entirely of sugar. Way too sweet

Mooncakes (??) are small, bite size pastries, usually filled with red bean paste or fruit paste. They're given as gifts during the Moon Festival (???) as a symbol of family unity.

They look intriguing. Fancy and golden.
Seeing somebody eat a sugar filled Moon Pie while drinking a regular non-diet sugary Pepsi or RC Cola is rather amazing. They like to put boiled peanuts in their cola too.

You still have RC Cola? I saw some in Jerusalem a few months ago. That's the first time I've seen any anywhere in years.

Seems odd that Israel has R.C. Cola ! Wow!
Different flavors of U.S. moon pies: banana, strawberry, chocolate, vanilla and probably more, and all made 100 percent sugar, sickeningly sweet.

New store opened in town called "The Meat Store"--sells huge quantities of meat. Wish it were "The Vegetable Store." Or "The Fruit Store."
Better: "The Vegetable, Nuts and Fruit Store"

I only saw it at one tiny grocery store near the Triangle. Most stores have all the usual Coke/Pepsi/Fanta. It got my attention because it was something I never expected to see.

If you want a fruit & vegetable store, there must be a good farmer's market somewhere near you.

There's a Farmer's Market not too far away

How about farms with apple orchards, pumpkin patches and corn mazes? It's that time of year.

                              Yeah Yeah Yeah

My fave time of the year. Bit of a damper on it this year 'cause of Hurricane Matthew's wrath.

Saw a cartoon in the Sunday paper that referenced "Meat Free Monday"--real cute & funny, unexpected venue for that. Real cool

Effective new diet: The Trump Diet. You recall he was elected for POTUS and your appetite decreases. A lot.

Keeping it simple helps, in steps to become veggie...like eating oatmeal and fruit salad and fruit and of course vegetables a lot. And salads. Various nut butters. Seeds and nuts. Cottage cheese. Plain Green yoghurt with fruit or veggies mixed in. Drink a lot of fluids (none with sugar). Sugar free pop sickles are a huge hit here in the summertime.

I haven't even seen cottage cheese in years. The next time I go somewhere in Europe, I should see what they have.

You ought to...funny, I wrote "plain Green" instead of "plain Greek" yogurt, LOL, typo but it makes a certain amount of sense. "Go Green" and all that

Presently really like Lipton Diet Green Tea, Wild Berry Blend instant tea and their Diet Green Tea with Citrus fruits instant blend, can you get that there?

Lipton tea isn't all that popular here, but we have more types of tea than I've ever seen anywhere else. Tea with different types of milk are very popular right now.

I should have known you have just about any and every kind of tea in China ! (LOL)

Ivanka Trump suggested we make "champagne popsickles" for "Memorial Day parties." Yes, it's a big party day alright and of course, everyone can afford champagne :

Is champagne expensive? Ivanka would just sell off one of the savings bonds her father's business partners gave her at her debutante ball.
