Recieved my ticket for Simple Minds in Manchesters HMV Ritz. This will be my 10th time of seeing them. The first was in 1989 at Roundhay Park,Leeds when they were probably the biggest band on the planet.Apart from Don't you forget about me,does any have any memories of them or been to see them. They have been going for 35 years without a brake and are still going strong.

cheers Gary, i see its sold out!! by 89 i had drifted away from them but no doubt about it, they were massive, Jim Kerr is also a good Celtic man

Simple Minds were massive in the 1980s, but their reputation and legacy seems to have nosedived in more recent years - I wonder why, when compared with other acts.

they seemed to just fade away..

just assumed that this was another herc thread...

The gig was amazing.I was up at the front against the bar.Managed to get my photo taken with Charlie Birchill(guitarist)before the concert and got Ged Grimes(Bass)plec after the show.Played 25 songs, all from 1982 or earlier.Highlight was "Today I Died Again""Pleasantly Disturbed""New Gold Dream" and "Someone".

                            9/10

                              way to go

Off to see Simple Minds again this Sunday.A 350 mile round trip, from Liverpool to Newcastle. This will be my 10th time that i will have seen them.

Quite a fan when I was younger although remember being disappointed when watching the Real Life tour in 1991 (Wembley Arena I think). Perhaps time to catch them live again - made some truly excellent records.

It was all down hill after 89.But at the moment they`ve gone back to there youth.
