Surely pretty much everyone likes Let Em In??

          All of Press to Play

Plastic Soul Man:All of Press to Play

            You said that already!

And I'm sorry Chris, but this is pretty much the only Macca studio album I don't like out of the ones I know so far, and there are only two or three left for me to get to know.

I love all of Press to Play!

I love it as it was round about the time I really started getting into Paul. I loved some of the b-sides like Tough on a tightrope and Its Not True. I loved the Press video. I loved the performance on Only Love Remains on The Tube and Royal show. I loved the quirkiness of Talk More Talk and Pretty Little Head.

I love that it could have been re-recorded and been bloody fantastic!

I love now that it is quite under played and not over exposed.

I think Footprints is a masterpiece.

Footprints is a good song, but I just can't get past the production and sound on most of these tracks. The spoken word intro to Talk More Talk is so misjudged that I find the whole track unlistenable - pretty much my least favourite Macca track I know, apart from his "Good Sign" B-side which I find even more annoying. I like Write Away from this period, and I can see how tracks like Pretty Little Head and Good Times Coming COULD be great.

Songs I like that most don't...hmm...here we go again

                    Beatles
                    -I'll Get You
                    -What You're Doing
                    -The Word
                    -What Goes On
                    -Wait
                    -Within You, Without You
                    -When I'm Sixty Four
                    -The Inner Light
                    -Piggies
                    -Honey Pie
                    -Octopus's Garden

                    Wings
                    -I Am Your Singer
                    -C Moon
                    -Call Me Back Again
                    -The Note You Never Wrote
                    -Cook of The House
                    -Name and Address

                    Solo
                    -Ebony and Ivory
-"Give My Regards To Broad Street"
                    -English Tea
                    -Inch Worm

SusyLuvsPaul:Ebony and Ivory and English Tea--the former especially doesn't get enough love. And I don't understand why.

Sir Paul could do better than using a piano metaphor to discuss racial harmony!! The cheesy George Martin production doesnt help the tune.

Paul has written 1 of the best tunes on this topic (Blackbird) & one of the worst (E&I).

My thoughts exactly , apart from FITD it's by far the best thing he did in the 80's after a pretty lame period.

                          -English Tea
                          -Inch Worm

Cool list I definitely agree with the following:

                          -I'll Get You
                          -What You're Doing

                            -I'll Get You

                            and most of all:

                            -Call me back again

With the exception of "English Tea," I wasn't aware that I'll Get You, What You're Doing, The Word and Wait (isn't that a John song?) were generally unpopular.

Well, they are depper cuts at least. But, I've seen "I'll Get You" and "Wait" take a lot of crap on here before...and when I do Beatles, I'm just doing ALL beatles, not just Paul. Just like Wings, I included a Denny and a Linda track.

                                Honey Pie rules.

                                  JordanOnTheRun:Honey Pie rules.

(Joey Smith) "Ebony and Ivory" is Paul's "worst" song on racial harmony--I disagree. It's better minus the cheese ball 1980s "special effects." I sure agree with that. Recall when Paul and Stevie did this song at the White House, and the posh crowd there hollered with joy...I've been invited to race relations day at a local black church this coming Sunday, and I'm looking forward to it. I know the music is gonna be fantastic...I gave them a lot of toys for their nursery and it felt good to help them out, like that and I know they're gonna help me out spiritually during a very hard time in my life, like Paul's music does

                                      JoeySmith:

SusyLuvsPaul:Ebony and Ivory and English Tea--the former especially doesn't get enough love. And I don't understand why.

Sir Paul could do better than using a piano metaphor to discuss racial harmony!! The cheesy George Martin production doesnt help the tune.

Paul has written 1 of the best tunes on this topic (Blackbird) & one of the worst (E&I).

E&I's keyboard reference is a much better metaphor. The keys create harmony. Why don't we? Simple but effective.

I don't think it's far-fetched to speculate that "Blackbird"'s meaning is completely lost on anyone who has not heard Paul's explanation. I would venture to guess that nobody knew its meaning until around 2002, when Paul started publicly sharing the meaning behind the song in his concerts and interviews.

And it didn't help that The Beatles recording includes audio of an actual bird.

The Word was a John song I thought, I've read Paul say that Wait was all his.

I'll go through from 70 (just album tracks, can't be bothered doing unreleased stuff too. I have a life ) onwards and list songs that I believe most people dislike or I just haven't seen anyone really comment on them:

                                          Man We Was Lonely
                                          Hot As Sun/Glasses

I went on the basis that cos he sticks it in his live shows a lot, most people would be tired of hearing it.
