I think we can all agree that like any artist with career longevity, among Paul's many hits, there have been some misses.

In that spirit, which album should Paul not bother to remaster, as it needs to remain locked away in the vault?

Maybe some of the recent ones don't necessarily need remastering since, in theory, they would have been made with the same technology that exists today. However, I still want the deluxe packaging to get all of the tracks, videos, etc.

If on some of them they want to make the book not so deluxe to keep the price reasonable, I am fine with that, but I still look want the music. Take Press to Play for an example. I think the majority would say it's not near the top of the list for Paul. However, it is one of the collections I am really looking forward to, simply because of all of the different mixes that were put on various singles that weren't on the original CD.

I really do wonder as the archive collection project continues if the deluxe editions are really going to have these books this large. I just have a hard time believing that albums like Press To Play and GMRTBS are going to sell enough copies at around $65-$80 to justify the production. He's started of course with some of his biggest sellers, but some of the others won't be as newsworthy. That being said, I will continue to buy them.

It's hard to say because some of his more recent stuff like Memory Almost Full should be remastered so isn't so bl**dy loud that it can be heard from space!

            Pipes Of Peace.

Send whatever existing copies remain straight to the tip.

            Landfill garbage.

IHB..has a good point. Some of the the CD's would not sell as well, so what would be the point? Only die hards like some of us would even buy them, right? :

I'm wondering if Paul and his people are hoping folks give some of the albums a second chance--the reviews are definitely positive for the albums that have been re-released, much better than the reviews when they originally came out. However, some of the albums, should they get remastered, are NOT going to face the same positive treatment, I fear.

I like all of them, but I'm less interested in the live albums (Apart from Wings Over America), so probably them. Even Pipes of Peace has it's merits. I think some of the tracks would be good without lyrics! P

No need to remaster releases post Wings.

When I think of remastering the first album that came to my mind was MAF, and it's my fav Macca album!.

Also GENYC for the, yes, for the autotune. As for the rest I don't feel like any should be remastered though well, anything can be better.

OK it's not Macca's best but not that bad. Some really good stuff but also a bit of filler.

Everything should be remastered except maybe from Driving Rain onward as I don't think they need it.

None of them should have been remastered, in my world he hasnt done, i have better things to spend my few shillings on.

I want more NEW work and I want it NOW.

                            That's easy, McCartney II!

It doesn't matter that much because it's not like we NEED to buy every release anyway, maybe they could make a cheap boxset featuring some of his less essential albums and side-projects? : They really need to speed up the process either way because I don't want Paul to be 88 years old when the last remastered CD is released!

The one he's working on right now.
I mean, release it, even with autotune or loudness war or do it yourself sound...
We'll have the songs, the sound can wait.

I think the most pointless Paul album to remaster would be Flowers In The Dirt. that thing just seems sonically flushed out, what the hell could they do!? Off The Ground is another one. nothing there to clean up IMO.

I think remasters are a crock in general. You give me the choice of taking the original master recording or whatever the latest remaster is, I'll take the original everytime.

Yeah, I mean they need to be reissued for sure, with whatever bonus tracks and stuff there is coming. Chaos needs to be reissued with all those great B-sides. But remastering those new ones? Doubtful. MAF with the volume turned back down is all is needed I suspect.

I hope not! My parents are 82 and 86 and both in great health and can hear quite well! My 2 grandfathers lived to be 97 and 102!

                                            When I'm 64...Paul will be 73! #9...#9....#9!!!
