Flashback: John Lennon Writes and Records "Instant Karma!" in a day

That is one of my favorite John “solo” songs!

The drummer pretty much made the song.....for me.  I'd like to hear a version that contains George on guitar.  HIs part was mixed down by Spector.  I think John was trying to make a point with George Martin....that he worked too slow.  John wanted primal. While he made his point, I believe the song could have been better recorded...and just better...with a bit more work...including John's vocal.  Just an opinion.

This song is A plus. I loved it the first time I heard it. I bought a collectible frame from the song's sessions from Silver K Gallery in Melbourne. A great gallery. Takes pride of place on my wall. A powerful song. I still imagine the album the Great Four would've had if they stayed together one more year. That album could've 'possibly' been their greatest.

For sure, assuming they, as a group, came up with the same songs they each released right after the split.  Maybe as a group, it would have all been quite different....great, no doubt, but just not the same songs.  But.....I made my own "Just One More" album by the Beatles containing the best of their early output as individual artists.  It's stunning and I play it more often than all the official recordings by the band as a group.
