When the Fabs first came to the U.S. they went to N.Y.C. first, really digging what they saw of it, and then to Washington D.C.  (was it? I think) which was like a big history lesson to them, but not music history, so they may have found that a little bit of a downer...then when they hit Miami they really had a ball, loved its sunny climes and sunny sites and all the young fan gals in bikinis, it was so different from Liddy Pool--the Fab Four looked pasty white and wore white  terry cloth bathing jackets or whatever you call that over their swim trunks, to hide their pasty whiteness and lack of a tan, and maybe lack of muscles (?) though I doubt they were so hung up on that...they seemed to like meeting Cassius Clay (later to become Mohammed Ali, or maybe he already was) and get a big kick out of that. Undoubtably their biggest thrill was gettin' up and gettin' down  with  bikini  sun bunnies at Miami  beach (laughs), probably. And they'd probably never seen buildings before like they saw in the Art Deco district of the beach. Maybe they liked hearing all the hot hoppin'  Latin Dance music the city moves to 24/7. And then  their Beatles music added to the merry mix. I know they loved that.

Yeah, they went to Washington, D.C. on Feb. 11th after playing on Ed Sullivan Show., but then came back to NYC to play at Carnegie Hall on the 12th. They went to Miami on the 13th and were there until the 21st. Met Cassius Clay on the 18th (not Ali yet) Miami must have seemed like another planet to them!
