Interesting that McCartney III has not one but two bird themed songs,  Long Tailed Winter Bird and later Bird Winter.

Started to list the various bird-themed songs fro over the years:

      Blackbird

      Bluebird

      Single Pigeon-great harmonies!

On the Wings of a Nightingale, done by the Everly Brothers.  Great song wish he had kept.

      Two Magpies

anyone think of a bird that has flown away from my memory?

I can only think of two, The Great Cock And Seagull Race & Peacocks, but the latter might be more Linda than Paul.

          Jenny Wren

            Free as a Bird

            And Your Bird Can Sing

"On The Wings Of A Nightengale is great song but he wrote it specifically for the Everly Brothers and it was perfect for them and their vocal style. That being said, I wished McCartney had done a official recording (there is a demo of it on youtube) of him doing the song or even sang it in concert.

                  Forgot that one.  Thanks!

How could  I forget that one when I am still waiting and hoping for London Town to get the deluxe treatment.

All of these add up to a menagerie of birdsongs.

What about Bluebird, one of my fave Linda and Paul harmonies?

                      In Til There was You

"There were birds in the skyBut I never saw them winging"

There were chickens clucking in Good Morning Good Morning.

One song has the sounds or birds at dawn, trying to figure that one out...other than the birds on Blackbird.

                        The OP mentioned Bluebird. 😉

This may be stretching it a bit ...

                          I Am Your Singer

                          Someday when we're singing

                          We will Fly away

                          going winging

How about a list of the non-feathered variety?

Yvonne, Sally G, Jenny Wren, Heather....

                              Hey John,

Always loved "Single Pigeon".  It was my favorite track on Red Rose Speedway.  And, of course, someone elso added Jenny Wren a great song on Chaos and Creation.

This is a bit of a stretch but another song where a bird is mentioned in the lyrics is the great extra track on the Red Rose Speedway Archive Edition:

                              *Mama's Little Girl

in the lyrics Paul says twice the line..."Singing like a Skylark"

😂 Took me a sec there!

Michelle, Lovely Rita, and of course The Lovely Linda!

(I don't think anybody would call Eleanor Rigby a "bird!") 😂

Perhaps we can allow tough old birds?......a bit like the turkey I had last Christmas come to think of it.

How about the Blue Jay on Blue Jay Way

Look, I know you are averse to being "corrected" but the title of the thread is Paul's Birds Songs. Yes, other people mentioned Beatles songs, but they were written by Paul.
