Hi, Not sure where to post this but can anybody tell me how much the shippingscosts are at Paul McCartney.com when you order at the UK-site. I cannot find it on the site and before I order.....

Hi, What are you interested in from the main site? The store: http://paulmccartney.shop.bravadousa.com/ is US based and has this answer about international shipping: http://musictoday.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12/session/L3NpZC92dlFKR1hjaw%3D%3D/band/5/sno/0 The Band On The Run re-issue: http://www.paulmccartney.com/bandontherun/ The shipping is calculated in checkout as well, I tried a dummy purchase for the Netherlands and got a quote of $1.98 for shipping and handling to the Netherlands. Although the prices are in US Dollars we found out that for the Live in NYC release orders were depatched from a European location, so we can expect this same this time. Hope this helps Martin

Hey thanks. It's for the re-issue of BOTR. I don't want to order in the US because of declarations. I'll have a look.

We did very well with the Live in NYC release as we were sold the release at the US Dollar price which is much cheaper than any UK outlet. It looks the same for this release. Martin

The thing with ordering from the US site is that they mention somewhere you pay for import duties but they don't tell you up front how much they are. I ordered a sweater and some small stuff last year, I had to pay close to ? 50,00 for import duties, cash at the mailman. Shipping charges may be low but import duties aren't.

Thats if you ever get the stuff! I ordered two versions of the "BOTR" remasters and I've been waiting since November 4th...if I had known it was coming from the USA I wouldn't have ordered it via the website. Plus the suppliers, Concord Music, are VERY unhelpful to say the least! x Its the last time I'll be buying via the site unless a UK supplier is found/used. BTW does anyone have any idea how much the import duty on the vinyl and 2cd/1dvd versions will be? Another reason I wouldnt have bought via the website if I'd have known they were coming from an non-UK source.

I looked up the duty threasholds and posted this earlier: However in the mean-time I have visited UK Revenue & Customs for the law regarding import VAT and Customs duty: Click Here and the advice is as follows:
2.2 Do I have to pay import duties and/or import VAT on goods sent to me? Most goods arriving in the UK from outside the EU are liable to any or all of the following taxes: ■customs duty ■excise duty ■import VAT and must be paid whether: ■you purchase the goods or receive them as a gift ■the goods are new or used (including antiques) ■the goods are for your private use or for re-sale. top ^2.3 What are the limits for customs duty and import VAT? ■Commercial consignments of £18 or less are free from customs duty and import VAT. For example, goods purchased over the internet with an intrinsic value not exceeding £18, will not be charged any duty or VAT but this does not include alcohol, tobacco products, perfume or toilet waters. See paragraph 2.5, 2.6 and section 3. ■If you are sent a gift with a value of £40 or less, and which complies with the rules shown in paragraph 2.4, it will be free from customs duty and import VAT, but this does not include alcohol, tobacco, perfumes and toilet waters. ■Customs duty becomes payable if the value of the goods is over £135 but duty is waived if the amount of duty calculated is less than £9. There are a number of other circumstances where relief from some or all customs charges may be available. If you think your goods may be eligible for a relief you should contact the Customs Helpline for further information.
Most of the formats offered by TopSpin fall under that £18.00 threshhold so will be free of of import VAT if shipped from the US. Customs Duty is not levied until the value of the shipment is £135 so none of the orders should attract Customs duty. The duty attracted will depend on whether you ordered the two items seperately - or more likely, if they are shipped seperately. The two CD 1 DVD deal is under £18.00 so will be free from all duties. The vinyl may attract import VAT (at the same UK rate of 17.5%) but no customs duty as the value falls well under the £135 threshold. My DVD came without any declared value written on the customs form and there seems to not have been any interest from the authorities. Martin

Thanks Martin, now all I have to hope is that they turn up but I have my doubts! The whole transaction has been fraught with difficulties not least Concord Music's attitude towards customers. In fact I've informed my credit card company re them and the credit card customer service girl said "Not them again!".
