I really have enjoyed Ron Sexmith songs that I've heard ...I was turned on to his music by one of the British gents on this forum! I remember two specifically: "Not about To Lose This Feeling"...and, if memory serves me, "You Drive a Hard Bargain"...something like that??? Nice avatar, btw!!

Ron's a great songwriter! Check out the McCartney-esque bassline on "Michael and His Dad" from Long Player - Late Bloomer!

I always felt Paul should do a couple of covers of Ron's material since they both have very similar styles / sounds / vocal ranges, and Ron has an incredible number of great tunes for Paul to choose from (and vice versa, obviously). I think I even mentioned this topic on this messageboard 4 or 5 years ago. As a side note, Ron once had breakfast at Paul & Linda's place back in the 90's. I think Ron was hanging at the house of Chris Difford who lived near Paul and one morning got invited 'round for breakfast. Not sure what they ate but pretty sure it wasn't bacon! Peace!

Yep,I read that as well. They played acoustic Wings songs,so the story goes.Have heard Ron doing a verson of Listen to what the man said. Really weird that I liked Ron's music before I learnt of the McCartney/Difford association. Also found out he co-wrote songs on The incomplete Glenn Tilbrook album, another fave of mine. I would include a link to LTWTMS but i'm dim!

Those that have not heard Sexsmith really should. Honestly too much good ones too list. Secret heart, Lebanon Tennessee, gold In them hills, strawberry blonde, and jazz in tHe book store. His last two LP's were A+ : long player late bloomer and recently released forever endeavour. Lyrics and melody. Lyrics and melody!! Genius. I have been listen to Ron almost from the start, lucky I guess. Seen him a hand full of times live. He is the real deal. Not fake, all real, just Ron. Do your self a favour and buy one of his albums, guaranteed not to be disappointed!
