Recieved my ticket for Simple Minds in Manchesters HMV Ritz.This will be my 10th time of seeing them.The first was in 1989 at Roundhay Park,Leeds when they were probably the biggest band on the planet.Apart from Don't you forget about me,does any have any memories of them or been to see them.They have been going for 35 years without a brake and are still going strong. OH MY goodness! YES!!! THE Breakfast CLUB!!! FABULOUS MOVIE they sang that song for!! LOVE SIMPLE MINDS! that album as well as the Movie changed my life several times, as I go thru a lot of challenges in my life! too bad I cant see them in concert. but then I luv most every Band from England and UK all the time! they are the Best!

Hi Gary I seen them in The Mars Bar in Glasgow before they became massive, Chelsea Girl and Glittering Prize are two of my fav songs!!

Hi Macsback.Checkout this tour.They are doing the Barras in 2 weeks.The tour is called 5x5.Playing 5 songs from the first 5 albums.Nothing after 1981.Going to be brilliant.Would be like being back at the Mars bar(was it 77/7.

I must have missed that one, didn't know they were playing the Barra's in a few weeks!!

Simple Minds were massive in the 1980s, but their reputation and legacy seems to have nosedived in more recent years - I wonder why, when compared with other acts.

The gig was amazing.I was up at the front against the bar.Managed to get my photo taken with Charlie Birchill(guitarist)before the concert and got Ged Grimes(Bass)plec after the show.Played 25 songs,all from 1982 or earlier.Highlight was "Today I Died Again""Pleasantly Disturbed""New Gold Dream" and "Someone". 9/10 Gary......

Off to see Simple Minds again this Sunday.A 350 mile round trip,from Liverpool to Newcastle.This will be my 10th time that i will have seen them.

Quite a fan when I was younger although remember being disappointed when watching the Real Life tour in 1991 (Wembley Arena I think). Perhaps time to catch them live again - made some truly excellent records.

It was all down hill after 89.But at the moment they`ve gone back to there youth.
