I Am Having Trouble With a Cat
-
Part 1: Bizarre. I am living with my Mom in a 103 unit apartment complex. The reason for my current living arrangement is Strictly on account of being a subject of a Hazing by a few very well-placed, aggressive Hollywood types including many of my family who live in other units under different names while pretending not to know me. Many years ago they decided to try to get me in to the biz after borrowing many of my songs, ideas, product inventions, etc., so they then started this Hazing which I am still putting up with due to their unusual sense of ETHICS. I am being treated to The Silence. Short form: We won't tell you and you have to surrender your Rights (to avoid possible liability issues due to their borrowing my stuff without my knowledge or legal consent...and on account of the Hazing and its various cruelties. If you know anything about the biz, then you might know what I am talking about. They run a tight guild closed shop. Or at least this bunch does. Very well known associates of Warner Bros. Records, Capitol Records, RCA, most all of the labels, but hiding behind others around here. One of the 'motivators' they've been using is by living upstairs and around as people whom I do not know or recognize while they give me the piss at a non-verbal distance for failing 'to deal with Their Issues'. Hell, I'm an amateur. They know what they are doing...buying time. The latest stunt that they've pulled is a family of new neighbors who moved in upstairs a couple of months ago. Often abrasively loud, rude, and very "Beulah!" in an obvious stereotypical performance with a nice Cadillac De Ville which they park in an open unprotected parking space, all deliberate. And of course there are stray cats in the complex which is very good for keeping the rodent population at a minimum...except of course 'the dude with the fancy car' hates cats, especially on a cold night when the strays are likely to rest on the warm hood of his car. He gets Very Aggressive about the cats because they might scratch the car's paint and is a real terror, largely because he does have the right to complain to the management about rounding up the cats. But remember, this is a staged series of unpleasant incidents by said upstairs neighbor on behalf of several well-placed artists and 'their trade', so it's all a hoax. Except... About the three stray cats. The upstairs have been stomping at them. Cussing at them and at me. Running them off when they are at my door in need of food. One of the cats developed a suspicious limp that lasted for days. As for the cats, they are, or were, incredible. The one cat with black fur in particular was always polite and sheepish for needing to ask for food, and he/she did, always, with the ability to repeat (in a cat voice) "Hello...Hello...Hello" when the cat was really hungry. And then would sit politely with his head tilted to one side and wait for an act of kindness, as if he/she was once a pet long since abandoned. So the cat was raised to be dependent on human beings. Again, remember, the persons responsible for my Hazing are Rich, Powerful Hollywood types in the entertainment and music industry and that "the car" is deliberately a part of the latest stunt. There were three cats. A beautiful orange Tabby, like an "Australian Mist" breed who also has/had a limited vocabulary likely due to being an abandoned pet. There was the second cat which I have mentioned. And there is/was a new young stray that traveled with the cat that I mentioned. If you know cats, then you know that they often bond to other specific cats and they run together looking after each other. About a week or more ago, the cat with black fur stopped showing up at my door. The young cat that ran with the missing cat did show up, distraught, alone, and looking for food. The young cat was normally silent; normally bashful, but on this day the young cat was vocal, crying and walking in hesitant back and forth circles. The orange Tabby was staying away from the area of my front door and that car, as should be, but he too was obviously distraught and I haven't seen him for several days now. Yesterday while walking to the corner to catch the bus, I spotted a road kill in the street that had been run over by a hundred trucks; the remains of a cat with black or dark gray fur. On removing the remains of the cat, I looked them over for signs that it was not the cat that I had been feeding, and I have reason to believe that it may not be the same cat, but I cannot be sure. Since this is the second incident involving a missing/dead cat and the local V.I.P.s in two years, and several more dead cats in the last couple of decades, and a couple of beheaded pigeons, cleanly severed at the neck as if by a pocket knife, I am becoming used to 'their behaviors'. I don't like them. Now, when I reached for my camera to take a picture of the dead cat "for future reference purposes", I found that my camera was 'suddenly broken'. And of course I am left to assume it as 'a coincidence', just like everything that goes on around here. Now the problem is, they know about the cats and what I am thinking happened. It could be just another coincidence. It could be a hoax. It could be that they chased the cats off as a part of my Hazing (to get at me; rattle my cage, etc.) and one of the cats was then killed in the streets. Or, they killed the cat themselves, just like they did with the beheaded pigeons, one of which was found here at the apartments and the other was found on the sidewalk just outside of a Warner Bros. local shoot for one of their t.v. shows. Prior to my Hazing, I was sent to work at Warner Bros. Records/Creative Services div. At least I do know for sure that the pigeons were beheaded by a person. I know this because the body of the pigeon was plucked of all of its feathers, and because the eyes in the severed head were gouged out with a twig. Now, I'm not feeling like sharing music, movie or product ideas with these folks, or helping their little town get richer. It does their ego no good. I have no outlet. To call the police would be playing into their hands, and in times past the local police have ignored my complaints of disturbing the peace. The cops are in the pocket in Hollywood. My best bet is to get some kind of money up (yeah, they interfere with my employment here while taking advantage of my enforced poverty and their infinite monies, though they owe me and refuse to discuss that part) and find a friendly Lawyer. I apologize for putting this here.

Aside from all of the people problems you're having, have you thought of contacting PETA on the animal abuse issues?
-
Well, given the powers that the people in question have over others in this town, I doubt PETA could help much. The fate of the cat is still unknown, but of course the folks concerned are holding their silence as usual, though they definitely do track everything going on in their 103 unit apartment complex. And they definitely do know that the cat is a concern of mine. I should point out that the people upstairs are not known to be responsible for the deaths of the pigeons, though they are definitely associated with whoever did it. These apartments are under security 24/7, very rare for a common mid-value apartment and more in line with the importance and wealth of the residents, and they are picky about who lives here, that is, if they are in fact apartments at all. As far as I know, this is a hole-in-the-wall owned by the community for escaping the Hollywood hassles by living a low key existence away from the spotlight. This evening somebody broke our dining room window. The upstairs were not responsible and were very decent defenders, but that would be a ploy to court favor given their association to the rest of the brood. The bothersome thing is, when I found the dead cat on the street, the locals held their silence, talked/gestured about it at a distance, but when they hinted (at a distance) that it was an unknown stray cat, a few of them laughed about it as if because it's a stray cat, not the one that I was caring for, it doesn't matter. That it was funny to be concerned over a dead stray cat. But they still want my songs and my participation by their rules, their control, and their sense of ethics. Like...breaking windows and acting like Mafia. Has anyone else been disturbed by the way other people sometimes treat animals?

... Took out the trash this morning. Found the cat dead on top of the heap. Somebody put the cat there between yesterday evening and 6 A.M., after "Office Hours" The cat was not hit or bleeding. There are no marks. I found out today that it was a female. I had thought by her size that she was a male, so stupid me, I did not take her in because I already have female cats to look after. She appears to have died four days or so ago, judging by dehydration of the body. A dead cat dehydrates when left outside (I only know from finding unclaimed dead cats in the nearby lots) and she is almost full form. Because I thought her a male, I called her "Big Boy". The orange Tabby is still missing. He is definitely male and so I cannot take him in. I named him "Bopper" because he tends to bop the serving dish with his head when I pour the cat food, to make sure that he gets enough. The locals have been making asides about the missing cat since the day the cat died and before I posted here. They even made a crack about "Where is Big...Bopper". Their humor is very sick for a privileged class of super rich Hollywood Idiots who could have easily picked up the cats and sent them to the vet in my interests as they still claim to owe me without saying anything directly. Such is a Hazing. Another of the asides was some jibberish about "experiencing death for the purposes of an acting lesson", for "studying the art of entertainment" . I don't need such 'lessons'. Instead, this morning one of the asides was that "The dead cat might be a prop". Well, how useful that they would prefer to spend money on a dead prop instead of paying up as they promise I am in their interests. Instead of caring, they either let her die, or took that cat in and let her die, or they killed her. And if she was taken in and became ill, some rich idiot who is too intelligent for their behavior towards others ignored the vet. I hope Bopper is still alright.

Given all of the nuttiness going on, have you considered moving? Might be better than going through all of this...
-
Every RIch person I knew was a sick person. How long is the hazing usually go on? yeah, making innocent animals their victims is just wrong. Why don't you contact a local hoodoo priestess? (not joking). and PETA. Those famous naked chick in their adds are the same people that do and go through this type of crap too. Maybe it's about time PTEA addressed this. Otherwise, they're hypocrites who just exploit women. I'll never look at any show-buisiness type celebrity again as not a hypocrite after reading your post here. especially if they're an animal right activist. Stray cats and birds being grossely multilated in the name of hazing is wrong. (Pigeons are gross themselves, but they don't deserve to die like this).

I don't know you and I don't want to sound like I don't believe you but have you ever considered that maybe you're seeing these things differently than other people? Have you ever talked to anyone about what's going on? Is there anyone you feel you can trust, like a doctor even?

just because she 's paranoid doesn't mean someone isn't out to get her. I've heard other similar stories like this years ago.

I already said I can't judge her situation, it's quite clear this is bothering her a lot and all I suggested was that she should talk to someone she can trust. As far as I'm concerned a doctor is a very trustworthy person and if I felt there were few people I could trust in the world a doctor is one of the people I would confide in.

I agree that this seems like it's been going on for a long time, or at least long enough, and that you're obviously stressed out about this issue. Someone to confide in, in person, might be a good idea.

I can appreciate the possibility that I have issues, but when so-called responsible people stoop to using dead and missing animals in order to persuade making deliberate contact with them (so that I appear to be agreeing to their terms), to coerce business contracts, then that's too much. No, this has been a Hazing under protest, and I have never consented to any of their tactics. These people lack ethics, and they do have power. I was once rear-ended on Sunset by a Maserati driven by the head writer of a t.v. series. He left the scene on foot before the police arrived. My rear end was on top of the hood of the Maserati. The cops dragged my car off the other with a tow truck leaving deep gouges in the Maserati. They didn't care. They didn't track the missing driver. They let it pass. Six months later, the driver received an EMMY for his work, which was where I recognized him. He wore the same suit for the show that he wore on that night. I think that was deliberate. I was only driving a used Plymouth. Later, he was on The Tom Snyder Show and talked about the time that he borrowed his friend's Maserati while under the influence of cocaine and had an accident. It was an amusing story... I created the series, attributed to somebody else. Once when I needed a dentist, dear family ignored the need while hazing me for big contracts. Sleep deprivation, et al, so I went to The Los Angeles Free Clinic to try to save the tooth. The dentist stepped up and rammed the drill straight through the front tooth. At that point, there was no saving it, so he then sawed it off as prep for a future crown which I could not afford at the time. I could have afforded the crown if I simply gave in to the demands of my folks...except they do not communicate any terms. I noticed that his gloves had holes in the fingers with some kind of black goo on them. I also know that the dentist dropped in at the clinic on orders from my folks to do the deed. I had no means to file a complaint for 'the free service'. This was done because 'I was ignoring the folks'. As for a psychiatrist, no, that's out. After weeks of roughshod sleep deprivations by my folks, they then sent "a psych" to my door, some actor. There have been several well-known actors here, pretending not to be who they are, just to make sure that I would not think I was delusional. But you know them on sight. I have considered seeking help on the animal issue, however, Los Angeles considers feeding a stray as taking possession of the animal as Owner. This differs from the State of California's position, that feeding a stray or feral animal Does Not constitute ownership. Los Angeles has a fine for most everything here. Because Los Angeles considers anyone the Owner who feeds a stray, the city then assumes the Owner as responsible for the animal's welfare as well as for the various license fees and fines, etc.. The city does have an Animal Cruelty Dept., but again, I would be considered responsible for letting them run loose 'as owner' only because I fed them when they were hungry. And then there is the Los Angeles Spay and Neuter Law, mandatory for pet owners. I take issue with this because, to spay or neuter means to remove the sex organs, same as a castration or hysterectomy, and I understand in human terms that when a woman undergoes a hysterectomy, that she must continue hormonal replacement therapy to prevent premature aging and death. If this is true, then as a pet lover, I cannot do this, and until I find out differently, then I will not do this. Instead, the cats that I keep are all the same sex, to prevent pregnancy. And if you take care of too many strays, as an owner as determined by The City, they can also charge you with "animal hoarding" even though you are only feeding them. And my hazers would not be above using the laws to coerce my agreements with them.
-
I'm a bit worried about your frame of mind at the moment. It's not that I'm saying I don't believe the things you're saying but would it be fair to say you're seeing things differently to others? You seem to be in a really difficult place at the moment and I would really really ask you to consider talking to someone about it.
-
Well, you know, that's why I brought it up. The folks in this area are conflicted by their controlling business interests, so there is no consideration for the cats or for ethics, or a reasonable discussion. I mentioned them because they are involved; that it isn't a simple mater of an animal running out of luck on the streets. They are crass with others to blame. Or whatever annoys them. And there are two cats missing, not simply one dead cat. This is a desert area on the fringe of the city, not the heart of downtown. We used to have horses in the back yards. And orange trees. Now we have other people's apartments with other people's 'rules of conduct'. I only meant to get in touch with people who might be concerned for the welfare of the animals. Not to make a case for the trade. That's their focus. I don't even want to talk about them. Of course there is the matter of building a perfect city by eliminating everything but the Unicorn.
-
Again, maybe moving might be a good idea, as things are obviously not working out with you in this building. Also, some sort of animal protection agency wouldn't be a bad idea. Just me two cents, anyway.
-
One last question about the people. Would you want to work for them?

I still say since these are show bizzy people, and PETA loves it's show bizzy people, they should take up the cause of animal cruelty as a part of hazing and are hypocrites if they don't. hazing can be accomplished without animal cruelty.

There should also be a landlord/tenant board that you can talk to too.
