Adele

LOVE Adele!!! Any other fans here? Rolling in the Deep:
Someone Like You: -
A true superstar and a voice to die for, a singer who doesn't need to dress to shock, her voice does the talking her cover of Dylan's "Make You Feel My Love"
-
ME! Can't wait till she's ready to go on tour again!
-
Just now getting into Adele--LOVE "Chasing Pavements" and the 21 album. It's refreshing to see a singer who lets her voice do the talking, not dancers, costume changes, and a light show.

boring
-
I think she's getting WAY overplayed to the point where I'm getting sick of her. And it's only a couple of songs. Obviously she's a great talent, but I won't buy her album.

isn't that what happens when an artist is at the top of there game?
-
oh god no... i can't stand her at all. don't like her voice neither and she is way over rated but thats just my opinion
-
My favorite track on the album:
I don't know how ANYBODY could not like this track. -
Yes, I like her songs. I don't like her voice (she strains so much that she has already had not one but two vocal surgeries, so I don't think she likes her voice either at all) but she sings with feeling. Just another example that LOOKS DOESN'T MATTER WHEN IT COMES TO SELLING! They'll never get it!. Scarlett Johansson released recently an CD. What where the sales? Still the myth remains.... some people never know. Should I give up or should I just keep chasing pavements even if it leads nowhere?... great video from her first album.

now you could say "I prefer Adele's looks to Scarlett's" too but the masses don't think that way, so looks doesn't matter for selling I've had this discussion so many times.... and I will again and again,it seems.

Adele looks beautiful! Where you comin' from? Someone has to look just like Denise Milani or Scarlett J. to be deemed very attractive? I heard one song by Scarlett J., and couldn't believe it. Her voice was such a--nothing! Scarlett sang just liked she talks, sounded so girlish and unaffected with no nuances or vocal modulation. I must look her up on YouTube to discover if my first impression is confirmed. She really can't sing. It's wild that she put out an album of Tom Waites covers!!?? Thought I read that somewhere I still think Macca's songs at the end of the Grammys show made everything that came before on the show musically sound like dogfood. Like nothing compared to the Golden Slumbers medley. but I'll check out more vids and songs by Adele, although I already feel sorta tired of her from the "Rolling in the Deep" over-exposure.

All I mean is there is some kind of myth that a singer's looks will make her popular and sell more. It happens with woman and with man. Looks are subjective, ok, but Scarlett Johansson is always on the top of the polls about best looking women and all that.... And when Adele started what she was told is that she wouldn't sell being that fat... and all that... And that's not true. that's why she did that gesture when she received the Grammies to the "guys in the suits" (the record label bosses... well not to Stefan :lol No, you don't have to look like Denise Milani to sell. Marylin Monroe didn't sell much, for instance and she was a sex-symbol then. It's the same old story, they can't feel the difference between good and bad music so all they look at is "is he/she good looking" "is he/she like a artist that sells a lot today" and many other strange criteria... They couldn't tell the difference between Mozart and Salieri or between the Beatles and the Tremeloes. You feel it or you don't, that's all.

I never wear suits also the other label bosses I personally know don`t.

the mozart-salieri thing was just an hollywood invention. as far as i know, there was no big rivalvry between them. they just had to invent a bad guy for that amadeus movie It`s like that:
trying to make mozart cooler, which is alright, but in the end he was just a brilliant composer no more no less. -
For me she's quite hit and miss. She's got quite a few good songs though

yes, I guess none of them was there in the Grammies
no, but me and my indie-label-boss-buddies were at the austrian version of the grammies (this year in may too; I`ve got two nominations for nino ) and i refuse to wear a suit... the major label bosses there do wear suits, but anyway, they`re not my mates guess what the austrian grammy is called? AMADEUS ... so there you go
