Rod Stewart and Stevie Nicks Summer Tour 2012
-
Last year, this unlikely duo paired up and did a string of shows in the US in the spring, and Europe in the summer. The closest they came to me was Philadelphia...and I didn't think it was worth traveling that far. But now...they are coming to Washington DC! Tickets are on sale next Saturday. My grandmother LOVES Rod Stewart (only second to Paul ) so I think I'll surprise her for her birthday. Did anyone see the tour last year, or has anyone seen either of them on their own recently? Post any reviews here Tour Dates so far are... 7/20- Cleveland OH 7/21- Cincinatti OH 7/24- Nashville TN 7/27- Washington DC 7/30- Milwaukee WI 8/3- Orlando FL 8/4- Ft. Lauderdale FL 8/8- Tulsa OK

What a strange combo!

I saw Rod last year. I had fun, I thought the lay out was great, with the band wearing matching outfits, back up singers, saxophone, fiddle and mandolin players etc. Great choice of songs, covered most of the hits. Can't remember the whole setlist but expect stuff like Maggie May, Da Ya Think I'm Sexy, Hot Legs (Rod kicks footballs into the crowd during this song), Handbags and Gladrags, Sailing, You Wear it well (with Rod swinging the mic stand around) etc

Very nice! I love that big band stuff sometimes, although, I love seeing a concise and tight rock and roll group like Paul's...I guess I just love diversity! Looking forward to Rod MUCH more than Stevie Nicks!!!

There's still room for guitars in the musical mix, it's a rather glamorous show. The only thing about having such an amazing voice is trying to keep up with the recordings many years on. The show I saw was Rod only.

What I hear of Stevie Nicks lately...she sounds a bit like Rod ops: He'll be a blast no matter what, it looks like a fun show overall, kinda like Elton John or Neil Diamond..or Ringo!

My bf loves Stevie like we all love Paul. I'm buying tix...and will suffer through Rod Stewart's ravaged vocal cords.
-
Bit of an odd combo but if they came to the UK and the distance wasnt too far too travel i'd go and see em,i'm a bit of a sucker for Rod to be honest.

You won't hear pretty-sounding voices at this but Stevie always sounds "tuff" --when I heard someone say Stevie "sings like an angel" I thought "she sings more like a devil"

Well....I got nosebleeds! The fees made the ticket pricings outrageous! It was either $167, $107, or $67...and I promised myself I couldn't drop over a $100 a ticket on this show! WAY too much already spent money on...and who knows what Paul is doing! ....but we'll have a blast just being there! I thought that clip was pretty nice oobu
