LOVE the ending!!!

Loved the Christmas Tree - I adore all that mechanical inventiveness and am deeply envious of the BBC prop guy told to wander off and produce the Christmas Tree to end all Christmas Trees. Click Here for larger image Besides the immediate Narnia connection the story seems to draw on the Gaia - Earth Mother concept which is how the lead character came to be deemed "strong" enough to resolve the issues facing the characters. No more for now as many will be waiting to watch this still. Martin

Hope they repeat this. I never watched Doctor Who prior to David Tennant, so that should be interesting to see.

Nancy, I hope this movie is aired again as well. As the movie was aired at 1:15 AM - 2:45 AM (EST), I fell asleep prior to the end, ops: and obviously the triplets were unable to see any of the movie. The triplets were very surprised to learn that the movie had been aired and quite disappointed that they were unable to see it. I have checked the Comcast guide and the TCM schedule for replays, but nothing listed. If I note that the movie will be aired again I will be sure to post the airtime here. It was quite interesting to see Peter Cushing as the Doctor, he had a great coat with a blue tie and a blue scarf - reminded me of the tenth Doctor, tall, thin, distinguished-looking, but obviously a bit older. Very cool to see the red and gold Daleks.

What with the exits for the both of the Docs companions, the chance of a new full blown Hollywood feature film and Moffatt announcing he's likely to quit very soon coz it's too time consuming and hard to make Dr Who, we could be in for some major changes in 2012.....hopefully the return of Russell and the promise of a new doctor. I really haven't enjoyed Smith in the role. The Christmas episode was a disappointment. Time for a woman next time me thinks.

'Doctor Who': is Sophia Myles the new companion? By Jenna Busch January 13, 2012 http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/01/doctor-who-is-sophia-myles-the-new-companion.html "Doctor Who" show runner Steven Moffat just tweeted something that set the Whovians all atwitter. He may have just revealed the identity of the newest companion. Fans of "Doctor Who" are still in mourning for the departure of companions Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill) but a fan favorite might be joining the cast. Now, we're not sure if this is the way to interpret the tweet from @steven_moffat, but judge for yourself. Right EVERYBODY who follows me, go and follow @SophiaMyles - spin that fireplace. NOW. I'll explain later. Or not. Sophia Myles tweeted back: "Watch this (fire)place," and "The plot thickens..." If you recall, Myles played Mme. Pompadour in "The Girl in the Fireplace," which is widely touted as one of the show's best episodes. (We'd also add "The Doctor's Wife" in there.) While we'd love to see her back, we're not sure the famous character would be a full companion.

Emmerdale's Jenna-Louise Coleman teams up with Dr Who as the Time Lord's new companion Jenna-Louise Coleman Tuesday, March 20, 2012 By Paul Revoir and Larisa Brown http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2117994/Emmerdale-girl-teams-Dr-Who-Time-Lords-new-companion.html?ito=feeds-newsxml Former Emmerdale actress Jenna-Louise Coleman is to replace Karen Gillan in Doctor Who as the Time Lord's new companion, it was revealed last night. The BBC will announce today that the 25-year old has been hired to take over the role, after Miss Gillan's character Amy Pond leaves the show in the next series. Miss Coleman, from Blackpool, who also featured in BBC school drama Waterloo Road, carries on the tradition of glamorous sidekicks, having been twice nominated for 'Sexiest Female' at the British Soap Awards. She will line up alongside the current Doctor, Matt Smith, and follows in the footsteps of Catherine Tate and Billie Piper as the time traveller's assistant. A BBC source told the Mail: 'It is one of biggest roles in TV. She is set to rock into the big time in a role like no other.'

As Doctor Who fans we are all familiar with the regular and often heart wrenching departure of the Doctor's companions but this is often accompanied with anticipation and excitement at what may lie ahead. We've known about the Ponds departure since it was announced by lead writer and executive producer, Steven Moffat following a screening of this year's Christmas Special, The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe at London's Television Centre. At the time he didn't give much away on how Amy and Rory would make their departure but did reveal the Doctor Would be getting a new 'friend' and now, after months of rumours and speculation the news we've all been waiting for was finally released this morning in the following press statement... Not sure how accurate the information is, but I have continually read that the series will not return until autumn.

Tori in Texas:
Apparently the last episode will be called Doomsday. Have you seen the comedy version of Dr. Who with Rowan Atkinson as Dr. Who? He keeps changing several times during the episode, of course. One of his incarnations, transmorgrafacations or switcho-change-o fiendish thingys is...Hugh Grant! LOL!! It's a scream!
Seen that lol, it's hilarious!
