I still have to sign in here & there daily. Anyone else still doing this?

We were invited to forward a list of improvements recently for the main site. A "Remember Me On This Site" feature at log-in was top of the list. I understand some of those requests are due to be rolled out shortly. Apparently it remains the intention to merge this message board fully into the main site still so log-in here would be embraced by that change in due course. Martin

I should have said multiple times daily. I believe I have 2 different passwords. Should that make a difference & which one should be changed? "that" one is newer so maybe that one should be this one's password.

At the moment it should make no difference. I assume when this site is integrated the one used on the main site would be the one that survives. The recent Admin request to ensure your e-mail address was up-to-date was to ensure you got advised of your new account on the main site, and that you received the temporary password to enable that. Having changed that to one of your choosing the two accounts now remains separate and distinct. Changes here will not affect the main site and visa-versa. The creation of associated accounts on the main site linked to accounts here was a one-off launch feature. New accounts created here and on the main site since that launch will not automatically have a matching account on the other. Martin

I always log out and then if I come back later I have to log back in, but all I have to type is N and it remembers the rest, plus my password. Is this not happening for you?

Some of the time it works that way...which is good. But yesterday I never logged out or turned my computer off & I had to log back in 'over there'.

There are two ways a PC remembers password details. Your browser can memorise such details - I expect you get asked specifically if you want the log in and password remembered on your computer each time you come to a new password protected page. If you have several different browsers such a IE or Firefox you have to teach each one the details before each helps you log in. The other way - checking the "remember me on this computer" box - seen on the log in page here, has the server send a cookie - a small note - to your PC which remembers it for you. It seems that this second method, via a cookie, is the issue here with the server failing to set a cookie to remember you and skip the log-in process altogether. The main site has been designed without that option so needs us to commence the log-in ourselves - our browsers often kick in with the auto-complete assistance if you have that set up. As I indicated above, we did put that option top of our wish list of improvements. Martin

I hope they listen to you Martin. That & also could you put in a request for that Wings shirt that was originally offered at the site!
-
Might have done so already The request list was based on ideas and suggestions made by members in the various main site topics. And I think you've mentioned that T-shirt once or twice before Martin

At least one or two... Well it WAS there so it's not out of the blue. I even had some xchanges with someone from (was it) topspin? But haven't seen it since...must go look now... it was bravado...no dice.

That happens to me too--it "times you out" and logs you off due to inactivity.

Well a few other sites can remember you & I never have to sign in. I don't like time outs...a little too old for that. : joking

This site has always timed out on me.
