driving Rain is it about driving or is it about sex

Do you think the 12345 refer to the numbers that Anericans tend to use in reference to how far they go when dating ?
-
No. That would be First Base. Second Base. Third Base & then Home or All the way.
-
Put the lyrics up lets see.
-
'Five' rhymes with 'drive'. It isn't any more complicated than that. Very underrated album by fans (not critics, who pretty much universally praised it).

This fan really liked the guitar oriented sound of album. Really loved "About You".

And Meat Loaf already did that.

A rule I always have about Paul lyrics is if I don't understand them, they're probably about sex. then I understand them well. example: 1985
-
About sex ??? No just a pretty silly rhyme but I like the song anyway and love the album.

Correct... maybe you could say Home Run too!

Doubt Paul would know much about the numbers Americans use for dating he could go from 1 to 10 in two moves. I'd say its about a drive. It could be however that I2345 conciously or subconciously is borrowed from an olde English nursery ryhme. One, two, three, four, five, Once I caught a fish alive, Six, seven, eight, nine, ten, Then I let it go again.
-
I remember an interview when Paul revealed that the "Something's open" line was inspired by a defective home-alarm system. He likes to "borrow" from ordinary life events.

Is 6-7-8-9-10 when they break up?

Gives new meaning to "Check My Machine.' ...not to mention "Secret Friend."

I heard the "Flaming Pie" cd again last night, and again wondered just what exactly that wanna go ride in my car tune was about--sounded almost as if he were having an affair with some local chippie, making an assignation, etc. but how could that be when he was wed to Linda at the time.

I think there's a danger in reading too much into the lyrics of Paul's more lighthearted songs -- a lot of times it's just stuff that pops into his head and he likes the way it sounds. If people start finding deep meaning in the words to "Soily," I'm gonna run from the room screaming. Seriously, when Paul's really trying to say something, it's obvious, but a lot of times he's just having fun. And sometimes he likes being a little vague so people can read into it what they want.

I remember instantly thinking back in '97 that "If You Wanna" was another melodious message to his beloved Linda. Nothing more. With that said: The song's lyrics could be interpreted along those lines, Suz'. But, then again, ones imagination could take the meaning even further...perhaps, saying that it's a song about a reeeeeally emotionally needy prostitute.
