For those who have seen Paul multiple times

Since I am about to join this club of seeing Paul more than once (going from one to two ... I know that's NOTHING compared with some of you ... I was wondering if you'd share your experiences. Like did you like your first show the best, or the following ones? Have you noticed something different each time? Do you see him in your hometown or do you use the shows as an opportunity to go to different cities? Just want to hear from some of you 'experts' !

I wouldn't want to have missed a single one. Even when the setlists were so alike in the 7 times I saw him from 2009-2012.

There is actually a thread about past tour memories. Check it out!

So far, I've seen Paul 7 times, starting in 93, then twice in 2003 (Back in the World Tour), twice in 2004, once in 2009 and 2011. Most of them took place in the city I lived at the time or were the only concerts in my country. I liked the later concerts better than my first because his current band is a lot more energetic and rocking than the one he had in 1993. Also, I prefer the later setlists over the 93 one. Even in 2003 and 2004 - where I saw him twice in a row - I didn't get bored. Paul is such a great entertainer that it's always great to see him live. I suppose the best concert experience for me was Berlin 2009 because I ended up standing in 2nd row in front of Paul.

Welcome to the club! The first time I saw Paul was back in 2002 at the Compaq Center (Now HP Pavillion) in San Jose. I was 10 years old at the time. I was so excited to finally be able to see Paul since I was old enough to go with my mom. This concert was so awesome!! If you can just imagine all the emotions I felt during the entire show, especially when he sang Hey Jude. I was named after Julian Lennon and my parents would always sing to me Hey Jude. I have such a special connection with this song because I have heard this song for as long as I can remember. So when I heard Paul sing this live for the first time, I was overwhelmed and excited. During his Driving USA Tour I was fortunate enough to be able to see him a few times. At The Staples Center show I remember that there were a lot celebrities there. It was funny because like I could care less about celebrities, but Neve Campbell and John Cusack were sitting right behind my mom and I and people were trying to talk to them while we had no interest. Wherever Paul is, I could care less about anybody else. The most memorable show during this leg was seeing him at the Arrowhead Pond (Now Honda Center) in Anaheim, California. Ironically, the show was on May 5, 2002, 11 years ago to this exact date. This was a great show for several reasons. During Maybe I'm Amazed. the audience was seated and enjoying the performance. During the guitar break and when Paul wasn't singing, my mom walked up the aisle on Paul's side where he was playing his piano and held up her sign which read "I'm Amazed With You." The entire arena was focused on my mom as she was being told by security to go back to her seat. And she was walking backward waving to Paul, he leaned over his piano and waved at my mom. I couldn't believe what I just saw! Paul McCartney waved at my mom and our entire section was giving her high fives. Also at the end of the show, he ended with the song "The End." During this time, a really kind lady let us stay with her in her seat up close to the stage. After the concert was over my mom had an American flag teddy bear to give to Paul. When he saw her with the bear, he signaled her to throw it to him! I was in shock that he caught the bear my mom threw to him! I still am smiling right now as I think about it. Seeing Paul sing Freedom was really impacting. I remember waving my American flag happily as Paul sang Freedom. My mom had traveled to Las Vegas and to New York to see him in 2002 and as you can imagine, the New York concert at Madison Square Garden was quite overwhelming since 9/11 had just happened. My mom told me the emotions were very overwhelming and impacting because of all that was going on in New York City. The "US" Tour in 2005 was really awesome as well!! I saw him at the Staples Center in Los Angeles both nights. During this time I was in the 8th grade and I remember no one cared at all that I was going to see Paul in my class. I am really glad that I had the chance to see Paul during this tour because he played songs which he had never done live before. I really like his album "Chaos and Creation In the Backyard" so hearing him play these songs live was really great. I really enjoyed him singing Jenny Wren, Fine Line, and Follow Me live. Sometimes when Paul tours to promote an album, he usually won't play these songs live again. If he does, he rarely brings them back to the setlist and it usually takes awhile. In 2007, I had just ended my freshman year in high school. I was lucky enough to be able to see Paul at a secret show he was having in LA to promote Memory Almost Full. This in itself was a once in a lifetime event that was so remarkable. I was fortunate enough to be able to see Paul play his classic songs, Let It Be, and Hey Jude, to his newest songs, That Was Me, and House of Wax. I remember waiting at the back entrance where Paul and his band would arrive at. It was such a hot summer day and we had been waiting for a long time. Paul's band had arrived in their limo's and I knew that was a good sign because that meant Paul was getting closer. When Paul arrived at the record shop, he stepped out of the limo right in front of me! I was the first person he looked at when he got out of the car. I was wearing Paul's merch t-shirt that I got back in 2002 when he was jumping out of the car with his guitar for Driving USA. I had the "A Hard Day's Night" record with me for him to sign, but he didn't sign anything. This was the greatest Paul McCartney experience I have ever had!!! Something like this doesn't happen to people. For some reason, Paul decided to step out of that limo right in front of me and this is something I will never forget. I was so overwhelmed after this moment. People that were lined up at Amoeba to see the show were asking me questions when my mom and I went around the block and I just remember being so overwhelmed with the fact that Paul McCartney was directly in front of me!!! As if the day couldn't get better, during the concert, Paul sang one of my all time favorite songs, Calico Skies. This was unbelievable!! At the time it had been around 10 years when Flaming Pie had came out and I remember thinking how time flies and thinking when I was a "young boy" listening to the cassette tape my mom had in her car when she would drive around. Paul's music triggers emotions in your body that can bring you back to moments in your life that you cherish the most. The emotions in that music store was something that is indescribable. I am very grateful that I was able to attend this free concert. I feel very blessed because this was something that fans all over the world would pay any price for. This concert was priceless and there is no amount of money in the world I would take to give up my blue signed Paul McCartney wristband for. In 2010 Paul had announced a brand new "Up and Coming Tour." His second city he was traveling to was Hollywood, California. He played at the Hollywood Bowl. Since I am from Los Angeles, this was a no brainer that my family was going to go to this show. This show was awesome because my entire family was able to go. In the past, my mom would take me and my two sisters to shows, but never together. This was just depending on our different school schedules and such. So the fact that my entire family was able to go see Paul at the place where The Beatles performed once was really remarkable. What I remember about this day was that it was pouring all day! I thought for sure that the rain wouldn't stop for the show. Miraculously, the rain had not only stopped, but the sky looked like it hadn't rained at all later in the day. I just remember this random fact about that day that the pouring rain had cleared up for the Paul concert. This was a really cool and amazing experience to be able to see Paul perform at the Hollywood Bowl. In June of 2011, I was a sophomore in college and I remember I wanted to see Paul perform at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. I believe the concert was on June 10, 2011, but I don't exactly remember the date. Anyway, when I was looking for tickets to the Las Vegas show just days before the Vegas show, Paul had literally just announced his brand new "On The Run" tour with the first stop being at Yankee Stadium. At first I was in shock and didn't believe this was happening because it seemed like a sign from God telling me to wait on Vegas because something better would come. And it did! The Yankee Stadium show was it! My family and I are big New York fans and NY Yankees fans. So as you can imagine, this date was the one for us. So my mom and I got our tickets for the July 15, 2011 show. All I can say is WOW!! This was one of the greatest nights of my life!! I had a sign which read "Hey Paul, I'm Jude." The highlight of the night was when Paul pointed me out in the audience and read my sign out loud and told me "Hey Jude!" in front of the entire stadium!!! I still can't believe this happened to me!! I am so lucky and I thank God all the time that I have had the many Paul McCartney experiences I have had so far. This was the most recent time I have seen Paul so far. I am excited he is back on tour and I can't wait to see him again!! I am still waiting to see if he will announce any Los Angeles dates, but if he doesn't, I will see him somewhere else. Every Paul McCartney concert has been a different experience for me. I have gone to several Paul shows and every show has been a different experience for me. I'm sure I can speak on behalf of everybody on here that no two shows are the same, even though some songs are repeated on tours. There is something that Paul leaves you with at the end of every show that is magical. I am thankful that I was raised right by a Beatle family who educated me on everything The Beatles, and Paul McCartney had to offer to this world. I know I am lucky to have the Macca knowledge at such a young age. I am now 21 years old and I now see kids that were my age when I first saw Paul back in 2002. I am thankful to be able to share everything I know to future generations to come. It has been hard for me to find people my age who share similar interests, especially regarding Paul McCartney. Paul has made a huge impact on my life and I have such great memories in my life regarding Paul McCartney. I know one day I will be able to share much more of my experiences of Paul with the generations to come. And one day I will be able to say to my kids that I was lucky enough that I got the chance to see the legendary Paul McCartney perform live.

I've seen Paul 7 times. Been a huge fan since 1963, but never had the opportunity to see him live until the 1980s. Texas Stadium in the 1980's. Dallas and OKC in 2002. Dallas in 2005 Tulsa in 2009 KC in 2010 or 2011 St. Louis in 2012 Even though it was the first time I saw him, the Texas Stadium show was easily my least favorite because I'm just not fond of stadium shows. One each of the rest of the shows, there was one thing that stood out an made it special. Dallas 2002 - First arena show and my adult daughters went with me. The emotional buildup to this show, which culminated with the silhouette of him holding up the Hofner was simply breathtaking. I was not prepared for how emotional I would be at this moment. I was sitting so that I could see my daughters and the stage at the same time and I got a huge kick out of watching them cheer and sing along with the music I love so much. OKC 2002 - My clock radio went of on a September morning and the first thing I heard was PAUL MCCARTNEY IS COMING TO OKLAHOMA!!!!! Never in a million years did I think he would come to Oklahoma. I went to this show with my sister. Afterwards, we were listening to the radio on the way home. One of the oldies stations has some of the same DJ's they had when I was in high school and college. It was neat to hear them rave about the 'Best Concert they had EVER seen!" Dallas 2005 - After Dallas and OKC in 2002, I thought, "Well, I'll probably never get that opportunity again." I think this is the concert where i realized that 2002 wasn't unique. He always puts on a great show and there are millions of fans who adore him as much as me! Tulsa 2009 - After Dallas 2005, I decided I would go see him any time he was within driving distance of Tulsa. Little did I realize that I would next see him in the town where I live! The Tulsa audience was great! With each show after 2002, I began to inch a little bit closer to the floor. This time I sat to the side of the stage in the 100's level. A story in the paper said that Tulsa wasn't originally on the list for the 2005 tour. We had built a brand new arena the year before and they wanted him for the 1 Year anniversary. The year before, he and Nancy had taken their Route 66 trip and supposedly, he had liked Oklahoma because the people who recognized him had given him his space. So, he agreed to come to Tulsa. Kansas City 2010 (or was it 2011) - This show was memorable because I bought a ticket on the floor. I was about 20 rows back but lucky enough to be on the inside aisle. Great experience! St Louis 2012 - This time, I bought a ticket low in the 100's section - great view of the show. The most memorable thing about this concert was how great his voice was on every single song. I sat next to a couple of 20 something young men. One was a big fan who had never seen him before and the other was just along to keep his friend company. It was fun watching them enjoy the show. Tulsa 2013 - I completely lost my mind! I decided I had to see what this Sound Check experience was like and justified my decision by the savings of not having to travel to the concert! CAN'T WAIT!

MsProudSooner: Paul didn't play in Texas Stadium in the 80's. Do you mean the 1990 tour? I've seen Paul over 40 times. The first time was very, very special and I will never forget. For various reasons, some shows are more special to me--like being in the front row in Boulder, CO. I've made so many friends at the concerts. There is only one I wish I had not attended: Hard Rock in Vegas, but that is because I was sick. Wasn't Paul's fault.

I liked my first & my last show best... The 1st because it was in 1976. WINGS! OMG...what a show. What a band. Such a comeback after the Beatles. I had a Nikon camera like Linda's & I was under the red lights, green lights ( ) loving every second of it. So fresh so new! Over the years...many shows later...in 2011 I finally did a soundcheck package. I wanted to do it at least once before it was too late...for both of us.

Each show is special in their own way. Nothing will compare to that first moment I saw Paul in person. I get the chills just thinking about it. But each show is still magical. This will be show number 10 for me since first seeing him in 2002. Paul performs to perfection every time, but of course, there are things like the people around you, security, your seat location, etc, which make some shows more or less enjoyable than others. All in all, I'm in my prime happiness when I'm at a concert, and I know I would never get tired of seeing him. I wish I were one of those fans who could say I've seen him 100 plus times, and I also wish I could be one of those fans who have seen him within the first few floor rows, but I'll never be that fortunate. My best advice is just enjoy it all while it lasts. 30 years from now, we'll be wishing we could relive all of these concerts over again. Cherish the memories and appreciate Paul and his band giving us their time and energy!

I was wondering if you'd share your experiences. Like did you like your first show the best, or the following ones? Have you noticed something different each time? Do you see him in your hometown or do you use the shows as an opportunity to go to different cities?
I don't know which one was the best. Probably the 1st one because it was the 1st one, because I miss Linda and because 20 years ago Paul was touring for a new album and not only to sing his classics. But as I love these classics, I continue to go to his gigs. I like each show I saw because they are all different. Different because of the place : Anfield because Liverpool, l'Olympia because it is a famous place where the Beatles staid 3 weeks in January 64. Different because the audience : Hampden Park in Glasgow is a wonderful souvenir with the Scottish Choirs. And different because of the set lists. It is also an opportunity to visit places I never went before and to meet nice people.

I actually left that Vegas show because the heat had made me so sick. All the waiting outside and no water. I couldn't take it and had to leave. I lived in Boulder then and had always said if Paul ever played Folsom, I was going to be in the front row. It took until the day of the concert to find the tickets, but I did it! Paid $500 for the pair. People beside us paid $1000 to the same scalper site for their pair. Thought I had a bargain. At that point, I had worked my way to the 2nd row, but that wasn't good enough. I had so many tickets for that show as I worked my way forward. Were your tickets fan club tix? I think that was about where my fan club tix were that I sold.

Wow. I am sorry you got sick at the Vegas show. It really was ridiculous what we had to wait through. My memory says about three or four hours, were inside, but it was a cramped hall way with little ventilation. Then inside we had to wait another two hours for the show. I remember it was reported Paul would do some more show there later, but that never happened. For Boulder, I just called Ticketmaster a week before the show and asked for the best ticket available. I expected to be up in the clouds, instead I was directed onto the field and to the tenth row, front and center! For $35!!!

When I threw my Paul doll on stage and he saw it. Laughed, talked to it,sang with it,signed and threw it back right to me. GOOD TIME.
