Natalie Cole, Nat King Cole, Tanya Tucker

Reading Natalie Cole's autobiography made me wonder, did her father Nat King Cole actually write some of his big hits, classic standards like "Autumn Leaves," "Lush Life," "Only a Paper Moon," etc. She showed pix of him playing piano. I enjoyed her book. It was a contrast with Tanya Tucker's autobiography, also quite enjoyable. They each give a lot of insight into the music business and being a music star. Obviously their styles and genres are different. I think Tanya left a lot out, she was even wilder than depicted, but comes across as quite likable. Shocking that Glen Campbell hit her, even knocked out her two front teeth(!), maybe he wouldn't have if not under the influence. Tanya's book could make a movie. Natalie's too. Such as "Coal Miner's Daughter" or "Walk the Line." Would like to see movies made about Natalie and Tanya.

Reading Eddie Fisher's autobiography now, and he has the chutzpah to claim that at his height as a pop star he surpassed Elvis, the Beatles, Sinatra, and other greats in number one hits and record sales And in popularity and fame Could that possibly be true??

Reading Sam Cooke biography. He was even more handsome than Marvin Gaye. It ends badly though, like Marvin's Skimmed through James Brown's autobiography and plan to return and read it properly as it's very worthwhile. Doesn't sound like he wrote it, himself, though. Ghostwriter again
