Plains of Abraham, Quebec, Canada - July 23rd - ARCHIVE

Wooo hoo! I finally got my bracelet today!! I was getting very worried. It's just that it looks so fragile!!! Not even plastic, looks like paper! I'm afraid it's going to get torn or something. I'm in Front Stage Zone too, but I got my tickets the first day it went on sale.
-
I'm glad you got it! We bought ours only a few weeks ago. Since he wasn't coming to Montreal we decided to go see him in New York, but after the show we decided we had to see it again
-
Yeah, I'm really hyped. I was disappointed too that he didn't come to Montreal, and I would have loved to have gone to New York. I've never been there! But I am really looking forward to this concert. The first time that I ever saw him was in Quebec City the first time he came there, so it is a special event for me to go back. And I have a better view this time!!
-
Omg! Just had a panic attack. Somehow I booked the wrong date for my hotel! I got another hotel, but I think that it's a little further from the site. Is everyone going staying in hotels right near the site. They are more expensive and harder to find at the last minute now. I hope that I can find parking though and don't get lost! lol

I just heard on CBC News that Paul McCartney will be offering free tickets to the survivors of the Quebec town of Lac-Megantic to attend his Quebec City concert. For those who do not know the community of Lac-Megantic on June 6 was devastated by explosions preceded by derailment of a train carrying oil. At this time I believe 42 citizens of the town have lost their lives with many still missing. It's great to see Paul try and help the small town through the power of music! Also, an interview of Paul McCartney will be airing in Canada on CBC at 7 pm Eastern Time.

Yeah, I heard that Paul and Stevie Wonder were doing something special for them. Yeah, it is awful. They are still recovering bodies and the death toll goes up daily. Very sad.

Hello friends. Checking back in after a short break of... well, since the last tour! My Crowdsurge order arrived earlier this week. I really don't know why they wait so long to send out tix. Unnecessary stress if you ask me. But our Zone 1 wristbands are here so unless a tornado takes out the big stage on the Plains of Abraham (tornado warning for Québec as of 4pm today!) we'll be good to go. If anyone is wondering about the site, here's a map showing the different zones and their respective access locations: http://www.3e-evenement.com/3EEvenement/files/58/580a894b-411f-48b7-bc93-fc07180076f6.pdf Hotel rooms are still available but will likely be disappearing fast as the concert date gets nearer. Expect to pay at least $200CDN for anything nearby (for $500 and more a night, you can sleep under the same roof as Paul at the very chic Chateau Frontenac!). Keep in mind parking is usually extra for downtown or Old City hotels. Shuttle buses will be running to and from the site for those who choose more modest accommodations. Shuttle details and general event info here: http://www.3e-evenement.com/en-outthere/ Weather for Tuesday so far is looking good, 25C or 77F under partly cloudy skies. Which is a lot better than what's going on right now in the Montréal burbs, namely heavy rain & winds and... no power! A tip for show day, buy your souvenirs asap. In 2008, they ran out of t-shirts before the concert started! Then again there were 250,000+ folks on the site. Still, if you see something you like, I would recommend you buy it right away. Please have a thought for the people of Lac-Mégantic. Better yet, make a donation to the Canadian Red Cross. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/story/2013/07/19/quebec-paul-mccartney-lac-megantic-show-tickets.html Cheers!

Thank you for that article. I hope Paul can bring a couple hours of joy into their lives.

Oh there's a shuttle? My hotel is a little ways from the site, and last time, there was no busses and almost got stuck downtown. So this shuttle will run after the concert too? Will check it out. Thank you for posting that.
-
yeah, last time the problem was that there was no busses AFTER the concert. It says here late busses on Friday and Saturday, but what about on the Tuesday after the concert?
-
Oh yeah I see for after the show, but I don't know Quebec City at all. I'm from Montreal. And my hotel is a little far, on Ste. Anne st. I have no idea where these pickup/drop off areas are in relation to the site, nor to my hotel.
-
Oh, I actually think that I'm not far from one of the pick up site. Think that I will call that Le bus number.
-
Uh-oh... now the weather forecast for Tuesday is 90% chance of rain We went from partly cloudy yesterday to rain today so I guess there's a good chance the forecast will change again. Let's hope so! Here's another article about free tickets being provided to folks in Lac-Mégantic. A very nice gesture indeed. http://www.montrealgazette.com/news/Paul+McCartney+offers+free+show+tickets+Megantic+survivors/8684068/story.html Cheers!
-
Uh oh. The storms last night were awful. Aw, that's so nice.'

Hey harleyblues! I hear you had an up close and personal moment with the man himself. Very cool, congratulations! If you come to the Québec gig, I'm gonna hang out with you now that you're on the "inside"!

-
Yay! Paul is back in Canada tomorrow!! Have a wonderful time everyone!! I was wondering if Paul/Paul's concert would address the tragedy that happened in Lac-Mégantic; I am glad they did.

Any one have any pix of the venue yet? Has the band arrived in Quebec?
