Ringo Starr - The Grammy Museum Exhibit
-
Anyone been to the Ringo Starr Grammy Exhibit? I had the opportunity to go, and I took a few pictures as well. I apologize for the quality. Photographs weren't allowed, and I took the pictures on my iPhone. Nonetheless I do hope you enjoy the photos. It was a entertaining walk through Ringo's history. I recommend it for not only fans of Ringo, but fans of the Beatles as well. How you start off the experience is very quaint. A television is set up with a couch, and you can watch The Beatles perform on the Ed Sullivan program. I thought that was pretty neat, and a great touch. This is the start of the exhibit. Off to the right is the Clive Davis theater. They were running a 17 minute film on Ringo's career on a continuous loop. Three of Ringo's drum kits were on display. Personal letters and photographs. Ringo clothing from the early 60s to present day. Ringo through the years! There were more pictures that I took, but they didn't come out too great. There was a interactive drum lessons with Ringo set up. Also, there was a booth where you could record a bit of Yellow Submarine. A very fun experience. Check it out if possible. Peace and love.

It was such good fun. I didn't do the tutorial, but I did belt out Yellow Submarine with my friend. I just realized that I referred to it as Octopuses Garden! D'oh! LOL. Very fun experience.
Awesome! Thank you very much for sharing!
My pleasure. I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures.

There is just something about those Sgt. Pepper outfits that really take my breath away when I see them! I remember seeing John's for the first time in the flesh at the Rock N Roll hall of fame...It is crazy getting to see these types of things in person that you never thought would be possible.

It's very cool to see these things up close. It doesn't matter if it's enclosed in glass. Still just seeing these personal items, articles of clothing, etc. is a very surreal experience.

Wish I could see that exhibit! Thanks so much for posting the pics!

No problem. I missed out on the George exhibit and when the opportunity to see Ringo's exhibit popped up I took it. I wish I'd been able to attend so many wonderful concerts as you. Those must've been wonderful experiences.

I saw the John Lennon exhibit here. Really fantastic. I agree seeing their personal items like that is pretty stunning, especially clothes and handwritten lyrics and letters. I'm surprised you were able to even take the phone pics. They had staff watching out for that when I was there. Maybe they've eased up a bit. Great pics, thanks for sharing!

The funny thing is when you first go in you're told no pictures. It's such great stuff how can they expect it to not happen? We were the first ones in. Aside from me and my friend there was only one other person walking around the exhibit. No staff was around except for the girl behind the cash register. I took as many pictures as I could with my phone and wasn't approached once. Maybe it was pure luck and perhaps the time of day.

Where can Ringo's exhibition be seen? I mean, which city? How long will it last?

The Grammy Museum is in Downtown Los Angeles. Across from Staples Center, where they hold the Grammy Awards. Here is the link: http://www.grammymuseum.org/on-display/special-exhibits/ringo-peace-love It says ends March 30, 2014. Some exhibits have been extended though.

If it ends in 2014 I wonder if it will travel to other cities. Thanks for posting all the pics!

That pic of John & Sean, I always imagined John was saying "And someday this will all be yours son!" (is there a "bittersweet" emoticon?)
