Help! What's this song?
-
Found this beatiful song on one of my cassettes from the 80's. Probably recorded around 85. Sounds like it's Paul singing. Wings? Google or any lyrics search doesn't get me any songtitle! Here's the lyrics I was wondering how to break it to you gently tell you after all these years that our love that was gonna last forever, dissappeared well I know you wouldn't like me to pretend staying with my feelings gone when we've always been straight with each other, all along oh, should i just carry on, making like it's still just the same oh, when i think of the truth, such a shame well I wish you wouldn't think so much about me then it wouldn't be so bad i could just walk away and leave behind me, what we had ... oh, you'll be finding another, just you see I was wondering how to break it to you gently tell you after all these years that our love that was gonna last forever, dissappeared

Hmm... if its a paul song around 85, it would be on either Give my regards to broad street or press to play ( maybe Pipes of Peace though that was 83) Your even more lucky to find out that...those are the albums I haven't really memorised as much as the others... haven't even heard press to play and haven't finished pipes of peace... the lyrics don't sound familiar either... I don't think it could be a wingsy thing either so yeah... hopefully that points you in the right direction...

..hmm, I guess I was a little unclear. I think I heard it on the radio in 85, The song may well be recorded earlier. I guess I can post a link to a sample, but I was hoping not to go through the audio setup to digitizing that old cassette. Hope no one will sue me for putting up the first lines of quite poor audio quality... What about that?

It's NOT PAUL No Wings in 85!!
-
I think near enough every lyric that Paul has had a hand in writing must be on the internet somewhere. If Google can't locate a lyric then it must be obscure so its very unlikely to be Paul related.

I'd like to hear it. It has a lyrical quality I can imagine Paul writing.

Ok, finally rigged an old cassetteplayer to my computer Here's how it starts http//www.olalofberg.se/sample.mp3 (I need an advice to upload more of the song. Is it legal?) Since I get no google hit, it may not be Paul then after all. But for what I can tell, it sounds quite like him.

that's not Paul.... it does sound familiar though, its just not Paul

Just listened: Anthrax?
-
Definitely not Paul. Never heard it before.

Anyone remember 'Penny O'Dell', the song from 1974, which was listed as being a Wings outtake from their Nashville sessions? I must admit that I was taken in at the time by the poor audio version of this recording.......by Kenny O'Dell. ops:

Appreciate the help. Here comes the chorus http//www.olalofberg.se/samplechorus.mp3 or, does anyone know a good general forum (or free service) for finding out what tune you have? (now that it seems not to be Paul)

I have the soundhound app on my phone it's told me in the past what obscure songs were but even it has not found a match sorry
