Yvonne's the One...what's your preference?

Of course we all know Paul McCartney and Eric Stewart worked together over the course of four Paul McCartney albums (Tug of War, Pipes of Peace, Give my Regards to Broadstreet, and Press to Play...During sessions for the last album mentioned, a song called Yvonne was co written by Paul and Eric and recorded as a demo by Paul...the song remained unreleased until Eric brought it in for inclusion on what is now known to be 10cc's last album, Mirror Mirror (1995) - the official title of the song was/is 'Yvonne's The One'. So with that said, I'm sure most here have at least heard Paul's unreleased demo on Youtube and at least more than half of you have heard 10cc's version...I'm almost afraid to ask given what will surely be a biased atmosphere on
I think they're both wonderful -
PS - Paul actually appeared on Eric's version of Yvonne as well (actually on two songs from 10cc's last album Mirror Mirror) Paul's credits per wikipedia: rhythm guitar ("Yvonne's the One"), strings, electric piano, frogs, crickets, percussion ("Code of Silence")

I've loved Paul's version for years. I've heard 10CC's before but I don't think it's as good as Paul's. It's good but not Paul. Actually I wonder if LInda inspired the raggae version.

I greatly prefer Paul's demo!! That reggae in 10cc's is too "happy" and this is a song about her suicide, isn't it?

Paul has so many good "unreleased" songs. I wish he could release a CD of his unreleased songs and B-sides that were not on proper albums. Come to think of it, it would probably be a double or triple CD. Maybe he could do it by each decade. Yvonne is one of my favorite unreleased Macca songs along with Tomorrow and Wings on a Nightengale.

Tomorrow? That was on Wild Life. Is there another Tomorrow?

Nancy, I actually meant "Goodbye"...the song Paul wrote for Mary Hopkins. Tomorrow is one of the best songs on Wildlife...a killer vocal from Macca. I also love Paul's vocal on Goodbye.
