Planetarium Beatles Shows
-
I remember advertisements for a show at the planetarium in my area (Philadelphia suburbs). I think it was one of those laser things, where they played Beatles music. Was it called "Away With Words" (or "A Way With Words")? Late seventies or early eighties. Does anyone remember this? Was it national?

They are still going on. I've taken my daughter to one here in Seattle: http://www.pacificsciencecenter.org/Laser-Dome/laserdome I don't think they've updated the graphics since the 80s though

Yes, it's called Laserium. I saw a Laserium Beatles show back in the '80s at the Golden Gate Park Planetarium in San Francisco. It was great! I think it was around the 20th Anniversary in 1984. That's when Let It Be Records still existed on Judah St. too! An All-Beatles record store. They're still going on: http://www.laserium.com/music/Beatles.html Showing in Oakland: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/484060 Currently in Oakland and St. Louis. They also have shows for Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, and a new one coming with the music of U2! Here's some samples: http://laserium.com/gallery/index_4.html

I saw this show (Away With Words) at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta in 1979. It was sponsored by the radio station WQXI AM79. I still have my t-shirt from the event!
