Calm down! He is going to be, and probably by Paul!

Hi Jimmix! Worry not my friend, our Ringo will be officially inducted in 2015! This is a great reason to celebrate New Years even more! Take care.

The tour is being discussed here: http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=89620

I wonder how many songs name check lyrics or titles of Beatles songs. I love Ritchie but...

That he's touring this year has been known for a while. I bought my tickets for his San Francisco show (first time I've ever seen him) more than a month ago. I think the album is news, though.

I've seen Ringo twice in USA. Summer 12...San Diego and closing night Greek Theatre...or Theater. Great band...great show. Then he came to us in our summer of 13. Great gigs. Front row seats...great, great memories. ANY new releases from what's left of The Beatles is accepted with appreciation. I"m 53, and I'd have guffawed if years ago people said Paul and Ringo would still be playing, recording and doing great live shows well into their 70's.

Go Ringo!

He is not being inducted, technically. He is being presented with the Award For Musical Excellence. Or, to be more precise, he's being inducted, but if you look at the Hall of Fame website, the other three were inducted under the category of Performer, but Ringo is not. I don't really know what this "Award for Musical Excellence" category is, but it just sounds like a fancy way of saying he's not quite as good as the others. I would think that 25 successful years of All-Starr Band tours, in addition to his years touring and recording with the Beatles would qualify him as a Performer, but what do I know?

Using a co-drummer on practically every tour he's been on is musical excellence?

ZING! Well, I think they actually just created this category for him because they already knew the "Performers" they were inducting, and it seems like Paul called them at the last minute and said, "Hey, why isn't Ringo in there? He's excellent!"

What's wrong with having 2 drummers on stage? He needs someone to drum when he gets off the kit to sing in front of the stage. And it was great to watch him and Zak drumming side by side on the tour when Zak was an All-Starr. And others have used two drummers...Phil Collins, the Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers...

True on all counts.

Yes. Including the part about Ringo being excellent. Ringo is already in there as a Beatle, so that is that. As he should be. John, Paul and George are in their mainly because of their careers in the 70s. While Ringo is no songwriter in the same category, he did release hit records and sing on them. If Donna Summer is in the RRHOF, certainly Ringo Starr should be.
