Beatles Tour as "Holograms" ??
-
Have read that, strangely, a hologram of Serena will go on tour. Saw Michael Jackson perform again as a hologram on a t.v. awards show--looked just like he was up there on stage, singing and dancing as only he could--gave goosies. But seemed somewhat bizarre. What are the chances John Lennon solo or Harrison solo would be a wild success as holograms of themselves on tours? Or even more amazingly, the Beatles all touring with Paul and Ringo (obviously) alive and performing with hologram John and George? Would audiences be desperate enough, and the Fabs go a bit over the top with the tacky and cheesy to actually pull this off (recall the eerie surreal "Free as a Bird" sort of "reunion" song by the Fabs)? Would this be a good idea or a terrible idea, you think : ops: Maybe it would be really futuristic and cutting edge (?) And we'd get to see them all together again performing on stage

But then you have to ask would you want to see John and George as their younger selves onstage with Paul and Ringo in their youthful 70's, or would you want some computer designed "elder" versions of John and George to appear with Paul and Ringo. Either one to me would be too bizarre. I think most of us have an image of "The Beatles" as some incarnation from the 60's. I don't really think hologram Beatles would work in a concert setting, imo.

A hologram is not live music. It's just a recording. If you want to hear the recording, why not buy the album?

This concept is sick. Truly sick.

Isn't "sick" GOOD these days???

What a horrible, horrible idea. This is gonna give me nightmares.

This will never happen. Maybe a Vegas attraction where they have holograms of them from, say, 1964. Maybe.

It may not be quite the same but I was at a concert with Elvis Presley in 1999. Elvis was on a large screen made up of 70s films and live singing. The band accompanied him on stage. It was a bit strange but fun to experience the original musicians from this time, as the legendary guitarist James Burton and The Sweet Inspirations and JD Sumner & The Stamps. But I might not say that I've seen Elvis live.

Unequivocally an idea that thankfully will never become realized. Even after Paul and Ringo pass all the estates wouldn't even think of bringing this to the stage. Perhaps Let it Be will become a 3D blu ray release and then their rooftop performance will be the closest hologram visual that is requested in this topic.

I think its just a matter of time before we have The Beatles virtual concert. The technology is here today to do it & it will only get better. Also, the demand is there. Here is Michael Jackson's live virtual concert last year. Simply mind-blowing:

Bizarre. It makes me glad I'm not Michael Jackson or a pop star, and for safety's sake I'll disappear so nobody will find me and I can rest in peace and move on to the next level.

Ewwwwwww...yuk.

It is kind of morbid. Why not just watch a video of a past great performance?

The music industry can fade away if this is 'the future' of live music for bands that do not exist anymore. Like I said Apple corps./estates have more integrity than this.

Isn't that just from a video?
