Hospitality Experience Liverpool
-
Hi! Has anyone ever been to one of Paul's concerts with a VIP hospitality tickets? Can you explain a little bit about what happens? What time is the meal? How long does it go for? Do you go straight from the meal to your seats? Does anyone have hospitality tickets for Liverpool? Thanks! Melissa

Melissa, I never heard of Paul seperating the 2 drinks plus vegetarian dinner hospitality reception from the soundcheck before. Usually we go straight from soundcheck to dinner. I think diinner lasted about an hour, but I could be wrong. Most of the time they take you to a t-shirt stand before the rush also, but not always. People start trickling out into the outside of the stadium after eating to get non-vegetarian food and hit the t-shirt stands again before the show begins. Evidently they where tight for time with this show and had to seperate the two. I'm not vegetarian so I had an easy decision choosing the soundcheck only package. Hopefully you'll be able to hear the soundcheck from whereever they have you eating dinner.

We did a hot sound soundcheck package for manchester 2011, and the meal was not veggie We're both veggies! They had an option for us, but everyone else got meat... so i think in the UK Paul's people didn't bother tightening rules. We were all made to stay in the tent part of the arena til very close to showtime - people were getting antsy and wanting to get to the seats to enjoy preshow atmospehere but they wouldn't let people leave until they had someone to take us! Eventually they let us all out! But we didn't get took to the merch stand, we had to have a look with everyone else after the show! It sounds a lot different than how everyone in the states ever talk about the packages, but don't let me put you off i just mean it seemed a bit less vip! But you will enjoy it - as after the meal you will get to see a Paul gig!!!!! And we all enjoy that!

In the US the reception is always included with Hot Sound and front row packages, but for these UK and Euro shows, Event Travel clearly says that "due to the timing of the soundcheck, please note this experience does not include Hospitality."And they have made Hospitality a separate package. So I actually don't quite know what to expect will happen after soundcheck for the Hot Sound people, : At a soundcheck I went to in the US last year, Paul arrived late so the soundcheck ended later than usual. they rushed the meal; we had very little time to eat before they closed the buffet and the room. So maybe Paul's timing has something to do with the difference in the UK shows?

Thanks for your replies. Hospitality experience does not include sound check though.

Yes, we finally figured that out. Hey, can you explain about how Paul sent you a video and autograph?

The vegetarian slop was a disgrace in 2011.

I was at that soundcheck (hot sound package) and it was all vegetarian. At least at my table and all those around us. I'm sure it was vegetarian - because I and many others just left it on the plate. And I can get the Japanese and Argentinians at my table to confim it.

No need to sound so hoity about it... Anyway, i checked with my sister and she said the original email with the menu was all meat, so she emailed them and MPL saying shouldn't it be veggie, so you have my sister to thank that they did indeed change it to veggie for everyone I'm just getting a bit senile now i'm 40 I didn't eat it anyway as i wasn't feeling well, i just ate the bread roll! I think we can all agree it was a horrible meal, and that's coming from someone who IS veggie.

I'm not a veggie, but Memphis was fantastic (lots of pasta dishes and salads and even a "build your own sundae") Atlanta (2014) sucked!! (Luckily I had a piece of pizza in the food court prior to soundcheck)

I'm not sure how Event Travel handles things, but I know in the US, the SLOTix people have to work with each venue individually to come up with the menu, so that's why the food is different from city to city. Each arena or stadium uses their own caterer and maybe some cities have more limited vegetarian catering options than others do. (In the US the meals are ALL veggie, there is no choice offered. ;))
