40th anniversary of the start of Wings world tour 1975/1976

I wasn't sure whether to put this topic in the Rock Show board or not, but since its a historical topic, perhaps its better here? Its 4o years ago this evening that Wings were playing at the Southampton (England) Gaumont cinema, the first night of what turned out to be a 13 month world tour by Wings. I saw them on the very last night of the world tour (at Wembley Empire Pool, London), my first Paul related live concert and most certainly the best. Who else saw Wings on this tour?

I saw Wings Over America on June 7, 1976 at McNichols Arena in Denver, Colorado, USA. It was a fantastic concert! I was 12 years old.

Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne 1975. 2nd show, with my uncle. I was just a lad. Had scant knowledge of The Beatles; I was into Junior's Farm!

I just missed the cut-off.... just that little bit younger.... so must've been circa 1980 when Rockshow was shown in the cinemas..... as close as I got to that tour, unfortunately, but pretty dynamite seeing it on the big screen.... still Paul at his vocal peak, and performance-peak. The pinnacle of live performance art.

I too saw Wings at the Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne 1975. I was at the first concert and loved it. Best concert I've been to, and the best Wings line up (in my opinion). Have been a huge Beatles fan since 1963 so it was a big thrill to see Paul live.

Myer Music Bowl must've been interesting. I saw a concert there in the mid-80's (one of those composite ones with a few different Australian bands, I think (?) The Angels being one of them) and Crowded House's farewell tour a few years later.... it never struck me as the safest venue in the world.... different times though, I guess. But a lot of people on the grass (and I mean the turf!)

And I remember how LOUD that show was. Or was it just because I was younger?

Magnificent venue! Always was. It was the AC/DC crowd dickheads who vandalized the surrounds that poisoned the place as a rock venue. I saw many great shows there: Abba, Rod Stewart, Dylan...

In Atlanta 1976 Paul concert, a lot of people were on grass! I got a secondary high!

That's so cool! So you must be somewhere in the Rockshow movie, too. I saw Wings Over America later that week in San Francisco at Cow Palace. Awesome show! Beyond awesome, I can still remember the buzz and the excitement of being in the same room as Paul 39 years ago!
-
Also heard the soundcheck while we were waiting to get in. Can't remember what they played but remember it was awesome hearing it.

Someone else probably knows for sure! Me and my boyfriend (Paul!) were laying on the grass beside the Atlanta Stadium watching the fireworks go off and I was wearing American flag looking jeans!

I was also a this Seattle concer.t It was my first ever concert. I was 11 years old and had finished 6th grade the day before. My brother and I went to the show and we had some friends there also. I was already a very big Beatles/McCartney fan at this age. I also attended the 1990 Kingdome show. I mentioned that I attended that 1976 show to Paul at the L.A. book signing in 2005 and he remembered that it was at he Kingdome.

A fair bit of Kingdome footage makes up Wings Over The World. Wasn't the joint demolished?
