THE WHO
-
Any Who Fans? I heard on the radio last night that Roger and Pete are involved in a charitable cause. Teen Cancer America .Org God Bless Their Hearts! http://thewho.com/charity/

There is an excellent short video in that link...and at the end a small excerpt from a beautiful new song.

One of the great rock bands. I think the The Who record I play most frequently is "Who's Next". But "Tommy", "Quadrophenia"... among the great rock operas, and I'm fond of earlier work like "The Who sell Out". very intense band, lots of energy, almost non-stop, maybe why they're not as much played on my stereo as say The Rolling Stones, or The Beatles for that matter, there's more variety, I think... "I'm Only Sleeping".

Just found this cheap,, 30 Years of Maximum R & B Box set love it

I saw The Who 3 times in the 70's with drummer Keith Moon before he passed away. They were amazing then! I also saw the Quadrophenia Tour in 2013 in San Diego. Amazing now, too! I just picked up Who's Next Deluxe Edition CD. One of the all-time great rock bands for sure!

In The UK, Roger has been organising annual concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust (https://www.teenagecancertrust.org/)) since 1990. Over the years, the likes Paul McCartney, Robert Plant, Eddie Vedder, The Cure, Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller, Brett Anderson from Suede, Florence and the Machine, Muse, Kasabian, The Stereophonics and, of course, The Who, have all played gigs at the venue in aid of the charity.

Quad would be my favorite. The remastered Live At Leeds also has the Hull concert (box set I believe). Both winners.
-
Got a ticket to the second leg opener in San Diego on Sept. 14th.

That is so kind of them to do. Amazing and heartfelt! This song came to my head today: Another Tricky Day:

All remaining 2015 Who concerts have been cancelled. Roger Daltry has meningitis! Was due to see them in December (originally postponed from this month) but totally understand why, Daltry has a serious illness and needs time to rest and recover fully from this!
-
When i saw them back in december it was clear then they both had the start of heavy colds but of course you expect it it was winteri was shocked when i read the news he was so ill,so no one can complain at the cancellations,we need a fit and well Roger Daltery as a liveband they are still quite brilliant

And it is viral meningitis, so I don't know if there are drugs to fight it, like there would be if it was bacterial meningitis.
