This is from the local news in Buffalo NY. That's me Sara on the news. I think it's awful that people were not able to get the opportunity to purchase tickets. Ticket brokers are the devil! http://wivb.com/2015/08/31/many-mccartney-fans-feeling-short-changed-after-sellout/ P.S. looking for 2 tickets anywhere in the building and not trying to spend a crazy amount of money!
Question about the reseller "bots" that grabbed most of the tickets before public could get to the purchase screen. Got blocked out on PM presale, same for arena presale. For public. I had an ipad and a laptop going so hopefully at least one would get in. -- was in waiting room like everyone, and let in at 5 seconds on both devices. 5 seconds. for 2 seats in "best available", the response was "quantity not available", at 30 second mark, tried for a single "best available". Same: Quantity not available". All singles gone also 1 minute in ? At 10:07, i suspected it was game over, i sipped my coffee , sat back, and just watched both devices in amusement (as in "wtf..?" lol, seriously !.) As every few minutes another line item of ticket prices would disappear from screen. Line item for Mid-priced tix disappeared first, then the $90+ gone, then the nosebleeds and $250 seats (level 100), then the Floor seats were the last left. Then, waved goodbye as the final line item slowly slipped past the horizon. For Bflo specifically, time for a post-mortem on the original issue primary sales: can someone explain the mechanics of how that happens if there is a) ticket limit per household and b) that orders are subject to cancellation if same name, same credit card, or same address, or same email, etc. Whether they're using bots or paying peeps in India to manually do the orders, how do THEY get in first, how and then also get around the buying restrictions ? It's probably a well-rehearsed surgical strike, but how ?

I don't know how or why this happens. It boggles my mind. Selling tickets like this is actually illegal in NY state but because these brokers are located in other states where they don't have the same laws, it still happens. Even looking on craigslist for tickets its mostly links to tixket brokers. And sadly the ones that are actual people selling them, they've jacked up the price too. How can people be ok with doing that to others? I would never do that. I just want to go and have a good time, not make money.

Sara, I sure hope you get to go. Aren't there any nosebleed seats left? He has two ginormous screens on stage so everyone can see him. The general area of Buffalo comprises over one million population, I read. So I reckon it's well worth Paul's time to appear there. Charlotte N.C. is about the same size and Paul's played there a few times.

Well...you can pay $300+ for nosebleed seats on Stubhub...

Buffalo is completely sold out, they even released a few tickets on Tuesday that were labeled , and I am dead serious, "NO VIEW OF STAGE." They were gone in seconds. Buffalo hasn't been a big stop through the years for major touring acts. The last year of so we've been getting bign acts and tickets sell out quickly. FYI, American Express pre-paid cards work for the Am-Ex presales. Thats how I was able to get my tickets.

I think of Buffalo and upstate New York as "Joyce Carol Oates territory" from all her novels I've read using those settings. $300 for NOSE BLEED seats??? Wow, that shows how eager and desirous you guys are to see Macca in concert--well, it's well worth it, you will not in any way, shape or form be disappointed !! It's a huge thrill !

At 10:07, i suspected it was game over,
Personally, I never, ever give up that soon, even if the site seems to show that no tickets are available. Sometimes they will pop back up. Sometimes the websites are actually slow to load the inventory, and that plus the number of people trying to purchase, causes the tickets to pop up slowly. Also, Buffalo/First Niagara use Tickets.com which, as I keep posting, is an Evil website. I have no idea how the scalpers and bots get around being put into the virtual waiting room.
-
Resale scalpers are in the business of grabbing up as many tickets to an in-demand event any way they can. They are pros and utilize multiple (and I do mean MULTIPLE) internet accounts, e-mail addresses and payment cards to get they are after. The checks used by Ticketmaster, Live Nation and other internet agencies require them to undertake more effort with the phrase/question box. But the virtual waiting room that Tickets.com utilizes is ideal for the bot programs. Their systems get them in early in numbers that take over that site and increase their chances of getting tickets geometrically. The average person gets in line in that room once...maybe. That room may already have reached max long before the individual is even on the system as the bots are in 100 or perhaps 100s of times. Nothing will completely keep the scalpers out as they will do whatever it takes to get around measure to keep tickets out of their hands. But Tickets.com has to be the worst of the internet agencies as its system really is ideal for these resellers.

thanks, to clarify a bit, as i do agree with you that 10:07 was too early to quit. : i didn't bail out, but i knew that by 10:07 the probability was very high that all " public sale" tix had been spoken for (i.e., sold out), and were just subject to processing, except for perhaps the random failed credit card transaction that MIGHT put a few tix back in the pool. i stayed engaged - and refreshing-- with the site for 90 minutes, using 2 devices. hoping against hope that something would show on the screen. i even signed all the way out, then went back in again, just to try it "fresh". I'm not concerned though...there is a very active secondary market , and lots of supply - for various reasons - will become available in the week leading up to the show. Closer to the show, tix prices will be less than face value from some peeps that have to cancel, or scalpers that were priced to high to start. its not like 10-15 yrs ago when you'd have to go to the venue and try to score a ticket or 2 on the street. tickets.com is officially partnered with stubhub, so "immediate download" tix (via barcode) are as close to original issue authentic as you can get. thanks for your reply re the scalpers in the waiting room. makes sense from a numbers perspective, except that it seems that it would be quite easy for the box office to recognize so many out of town IP address, and at least be able to keep the majority of tickets with relatively local IP addresses, just as a means to reduce the chances of tix going to out of town scalpers. However, seems a lot of tix wound up with local scalper agencies anyway.

This might not be news to most people who posted on this thread, but it was news to me. http://www.beatlesradio.com/rapid-sellout-of-mccartney-tickets-sparks-new-legislation

I have tickets for the Buffalo concert -- so psyched! What's the wisdom about the limo watch -- what time would Paul be expected, and where will fans be on the lookout for him? Is there a stage entrance for the First Niagara Center?
-
I received my tickets from Crowdsurge yesterday. I can't wait to go to Buffalo
-
If you have any extras please let me know I am still looking.

Left after HEY JUDE but a few things. He didn't say after taking off his coat that this is the only wardrobe change of the evening but replaced it with "this is the last gig of the year" Also his voice was stellar tonight. Maybe I'm Amazed was the best vocal performance I have seen in the last five years at least. No croaking. Hope it wasn't auto tuned or double tracked but he nailed it. FOUR FIVE SECONDS was spot on too. Last week State College and tonight were so much different vocal wise. Worth the trip tonight. Hope Newark rumor is true for May

Old topic - ticketing complaints. Never give up! While I had my seats from the pre-sale, some family members were locked out of getting anything on the general sale as most were. Stubhub/scalper prices were ridiculously high and not dropping as expected as the show neared. Kept checking the venue site and 4 hours before the show, scored side of stage in the first row for them. Persistence does pay off sometimes.
