Eagles were my favorite rock/pop band whose name didn't start with a B.

Me too! I saw them in the mid '90's in the 17th row when they had their "Hell Freezes Over" comeback tour! Tickets were a (shockingly at the time) $100 each, but my neurosurgeon buddy (who is also a huge Beatles fan) bought my ticket since I stood in line (lottery-remember those--cash only?) to get 6 tickets (4 for him) We got #2 place in the lottery!

Sad news about Glenn Frey "The Rolling Stones' Original Manager" died--was that Andrew Loog Oldham, I wonder

No. Not him. Not yet. It was Giorgio Gomelsky. http://www.scotsman.com/news/obituaries/obituary-giorgio-gomelsky-manager-of-the-rolling-stones-1-4005628

From 1969-81, there was an outdoor summer music festival called The Mississippi River Festival (MRF) at SIU-Edwardsville. Lots of big names (Joplin, The Band with Bob Dylan, The Who, Chicago/Beach Boys). Eagles played there 3 times. Never saw them, but could hear them loud and clear from my home, about three miles away.

Was shocked and saddened to hear the news. Saw the Eagles this past summer as part of their 'History of the Eagles' tour as it was wrapping up. And man I am forever grateful. Take it Easy, Mr. Frey.

History of The Eagles was supposed to be on CNN tonight, but got pre-empted by the east coast snow mess.

(Watching the news today I thought of these songs.) The Eagles Don Henley/Glenn Frey, are like The Beach Boys and Simon and Garfunkel of songwriting legends in American music. I am glad I saw The Eagles in concert. I just don't see though how The Eagles can be a group without Glenn. Doolin Dalton & Doolin Dalton Desperado Reprise:

In my opinion, it would be very hard continuing on without Glenn!!

A song about a real place near my old home. Just south of Montgomery, Alabama. A beautiful place I have taken only special friends. Seven Bridges Road:
Written by Steve Young from Montgomery, Al. 1978.
