My Dark Hour

how have I gone my entire life without discovering this song? Steve Miller with Paul on bass, drums, and backing vocals. 1969 - long before fly like an eagle, but using same riff. Recorded after Paul had blow out with other 3 over Allen Klein. Totally rocks.

Cool song and Mr. McCartney was credited on record with the name "Paul Ramon" which is quite amusing consider "Ram On" was a song years later on RAM.

Paul Ramon is also a pseudonym Paul used while touring with The Silver Beetles with Johnny Gentle in 1960.

The same guitar riff was used in "Fly Like an Eagle". I wonder if Paul wrote the riff. It sounds like something he would write in that period.
-
Definitely has an "Oo You" vibe to it. First time hearing this.
-
And the Ramones used that too..

...and in 2002's secret website gig...during the band intro's Paul introduced himself as Paul Ramon.

Cool song! Never heard it before. That's the best drumming I've heard from Paul

Thanks, read about it many times (first time in Beatles A-Z around 1982 probably) but at the time there was no YouTube to listen

You can find the song on Steve Miller Band's "Brave New World" album, which I know is still available. I've owned the album for years. Great track.
