yesterday is about Paul's mother not about Jane Asher
Yeah, he's right. The only connection is that he "woke up, fell out of bed" with the tune in his head at the Asher home where he lived from 1963 to 1966.
well, no. (It seems we're gonna disagree in everything in this board) Paul wroted, dreamed really the song in a Hotel in Paris. The Beatles on tour, the guys having a night out and he staying in the hotel with the piano trying to write a song. He couldn't write a thing. But he went to sleep and dreamed that, and played it at the piano when waking.
Where, pray tell, did you get that story? It was at the Asher home where he was living. (btw, I just today saw your post. Must have skipped over it earlier)
Well, I remember Paul telling the story of the song being written in a Hotel in France "McCartney originally claimed he had written "Yesterday" during the Beatles' tour of France in 1964" but now he says he was at Jane's house. So it's not quite clear. It would be just trivia info if Yesterday wasn't the most important song ever!

This is the internet, after all. Just don't tell anyone you like his setlist. You may be burned in effigy. And, whatever you do, never, ever say that Rocky lived in the black mining hills of Dakota. This site might explode.
