50 years ago Tues Aug 23, 1966 The Beatles played Shea Stadium for the 2nd time. (I was there and yes, they could be heard) There was a perimeter of police around the entire field that year and lots of security in the stands. I had a first row box seat in the upper level on the 1st base side so we hung our banner on the railing, "LUV ya!!" with the "L" made with a portrait photo of each Beatle. Here's a radio(?) narrative from audience members during the performance. Bits of "I Feel Fine" and "Yesterday" can be faintly heard in the background as the audience members talk and scream. That's cool! Great soundtrack too! I was starting 9th grade at that time. Never got to see them play anywhere. Wound up being the school's decathlon champion that following spring. That is me at the time in my avatar picture. I had a pair of bonafide Chelsea leather Beatle boots. I had a friend who lived 2 houses north of the school and I lived 5 houses north of the school. He told me once that every time I would be walking home after school, his mom often times would hear me coming down the sidewalk and say, "Here comes Steve with his Beatle boots on!" Great Memories! Thanks for sharing that, joyce!

You're welcome. Beatles content on Youtube is amazing. Always something else being added. The best line was the girl who goes, "We didn't spend $5.75 fer nuthin'-!!"

They should have opened the concert with "Tomorrow Never Knows". That might have silenced the screaming girls.
