Technical problem
-
When I go to the website, no matter whether on Google Chrome, Firefox or I.E., I cannot X out of the "Play Music" in order to actually view the content on the site! Can't you just make that a link somewhere instead of the way it is now? P.S. This has been happening for a long time and only very rarely will it disappear when I click on the X.
-
Why has nobody addressed this problem I'm having?
-
I hadn't realised that you could X your way out of having the music played? I just automatically turn my speakers volume down whenever I visit the website.
-
I wish I could X out of the damn thing!! I tried my laptop as well and no luck. The only way I can read stuff is when I get the monthly email (What's That You're Doing) and I can click on the various articles through that.

I don't think you understand my problem. I took a screen shot of what I see when I go to paulmccartney.com: I cannot get rid of the Play Music window by clicking on the red X. Nothing happens (no music plays either) so I can't access the site. Very frustrating! And still waiting for a mod to address this!

Hi Nancy, Sorry to learn you are experiencing an issue at the main site. I did not reply to your first post as I thought you were simply venting about not being able to turn off the music player permanently, which has been a regular complaint in the past. Knowing these complaints and continuing to maintain the music player as is, I gather those in charge have made their decision on how they want the music player to appear. Nothing I could suggest would make any difference as I have already reported the complaints about this feature including reporting via surveys conducted, etc. Now having read your latest posts and viewed your screen shot, I see that you are referring to something completely different. I am not a mod/admin at the main site and therefore have no ability to address issues there. I am not able to assist on a personal level as I am unable to recreate the issue you are experiencing. I do not see the same when I visit the main site. I am with Kestrel, I do not have the ability to opt (x) out of the music player. I do not see the music player when I visit the main site. I have to click an up arrow found at the bottom of the main site to have the music player appear on screen. I am able to temporarily silence the music player by clicking AUTO-PLAY, but eventually the music returns. I am also able to silence the music by sliding the music player volume control to zero, and of course by silencing speakers on my end. As we have no further reports of this issue at this time, our standard advice is deleting cookies, clearing cache, history, etc. If unsure how to perform these tasks, you may find step-by-step directions for various browsers here: Mozilla Support: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/home Internet Explorer Support: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us Google Chrome Support: http://support.google.com/chrome/?hl=en If no resolution, you may contact the main site webmaster here: webmaster@paulmccartney.com I hope this information helps. Anita

Thanks Anita. That is so weird you don't see the same thing when you go to pm.com!

When I get on my laptop, the problem doesn't occur! I see the regular home page with the music at the bottom which plays unless you press pause. Only on the iPad does the screen I posted above appear. :

Hi Nancy, To clear cookies, cache, history, etc. on your iPad, you may find directions to do so here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201265 I hope this information resolves the issue on your iPad. Anita

Thanks, but I am usually on Firefox, not Safari when using paulmccartney.com. (The problem does occur on Safari too, though.) Will see if any of that helps.

Did all that with Safari and still get the same-looking page that I posted screenshot above. I'm afraid only an Apple genius could fix this. Oh, and I contacted the webmaster at pm.com, but never heard a word back!

I have the same problem. The Music box is permanent. It never closes. Didn't it used to close? I am on Safari and using an iPad Air 2. I guess no one else is complaining. Okay, now I have just gotten on to my MacBook Pro and there is no problem. The music box is at the bottom of my page and I can pause it if I like. I can read articles now, but it's a drag to have this problem on my tablet which I use daily.

It used to close, yes. I always have to get on my PC laptop if I want to look at paulmccartney.com. I agree, it's a drag, "a well-known drag!"

"Who's this Susan when she's at home?" (That segment of the movie with George is priceless!)

ME TOO!!!! For months now when I go to paulmccartney.com I get that box with Paul and the headphones with the play music or the red X and nothing works, I can't get past that box! Please fix it!!!!!! Especially with new tour info ahead....
-
I have tried all your suggestions and still can't access the site...stuck on that same photo of Paul with headphones and the "play music" or red X....and nothing works ....cant get past it. I am using an iPad also. Have deleted all cookies and website data....no difference. It used to work. iPad is all I have.
-
You have to use a PC. It can only be accessed "normally" that way, never on an iPad. Wish I knew why!
-
It used to work perfectly on my iPad until a few months ago!!!!! Something has changed. Please fix it ....it's a mobile world folks! You have to have technology that works with mobile devices and you used to!

I have the same problem on my iPad Air 2 using Safari. On my older iPad 2, I don't have the problem. Not a problem on my windows pc either. On older iPad and on pc, I can "x out of" the play music pop up. Very frustrating on the new iPad. I hope someone can get to the tech folks who can fix this. Thanks.
