Julian Lennon on the 'sign' father John Lennon sent to him..

Nice confirmation for Julian.

Yeah i've heard him say that before, and i believe the aboriginal leaders were genuine BUT i do remember Julian saying in an interview in the mid 80s that John had said about a white feather, he rarely mentioned it since but to me as that info was always out there anyone could have used it.. but i am the cynical type hehe But as i said, i do think in the actual case it was a real thing and they hadn't read an old UK magazine interview and thought hey we'll get his attention (He's just lucky in the intervening years no one else did!) (Oh and since Julian came up with the white feather organisation my other half has an annoying habit of saying "julian lennon white feather" out loud every time we see a white feather on the streets. Sounds cute, but as i say, it gets old very quickly

At the spur of the moment Saturday, I decided to attend the booksigning/interview Julian was doing at the Barnes and Noble in Union Square in NYC. The place was packed and I was lucky enough to get a seat towards the back. I bought the book - all the books were pre-signed. Julian did a great interview with Dennis Elsas who was a dj here in NY back in the day. Julian was funny and articulate. Afterwards he did a meet and greet photo op with everyone who had bought the book and had a wristband. I was afraid I might not get the chance to meet him since he was due to catch a plane to L.A. right after the booksigning and time was running out. The B&N staff did a terrific job of organizing and moving the line along. I lucked out and got a terrific photo of myself with him. He was so sweet. I shook his hand and said thank you as I left the stage and he said "my pleasure". Can't figure out how to post my picture. I've tried copying and pasting but I am not able to do it.

You need to upload it to a photo hosting site like photobucket. Or a quick way is to use postimg. You can google that or...here's the link: https://postimage.io/

Thanks oobu24. I will try this

Not sure if this will work but I will give it a shot Pix of me and Julian <a href='https://postimg.org/image/yu7xa9szz/' target='_blank'><img src='https://s19.postimg.org/yu7xa9szz/Julian.jpg' border='0' alt='postimage'/></a> Apologize if this doesn't work. I'm technically challenged when it comes to posting pictures

I think you need to practice a bit. There is a help thread or post around here...mYBE A MOD CAN DIRECT YOU TO IT.

Nice pic!

Thanks for all your help oobu24. Really appreciate it. I do need to practice big time! Glad you like the pix. Julian was so nice and gracious. He must have posed with over 100 people but the B&N people made sure he got to everyone
-
That was very nice of him to pose with everyone. Good thing you decided to go to the event.
-
Yes oobu24 it was one of the best decisions I've made. Some times you need to go with your gut instinct.

what a nice picture Maccagirl61842 I've always admired Julian, I've seen a few of his latest interviews about his new book and he seems to be doing so well. He is gracious and kind. I love that he dedicated the book to Cynthia, saying something like, 'she taught me how to fly without wings'
-
Thank you Apple Scruff for the compliment. Given I had a split second to prepare myself for meeting Julian and for a picture, I was surprised it came out so well. Kudos to the B&N employee for taking the shot. I've always admired Julian as well and how close he was to his mum. The dedication in his book is lovely and I'm sure Cynthia is looking down on him and is very proud.

I too admire Julian. A great son to his Mum, who was a great, wonderful Mum. And he did really well with his music. Put out some really good songs. Valotte was a fine debut album and he hit number one in Australia with Saltwater.... I always liked Now You're in Heaven and Too Late for Goodbyes... both big hits and both great songs. I remember Now You're in Heaven being pretty big in Australia.

Don't know if I ever heard Now You're in Heaven but I do love Too Late for Goodbyes. I looked up Now You're in Heaven & it totally reminded me of David Bowie. Here it is:

I have the album that is on, Mr. Jordan, released in 1989 when Julian was 26.

Yep, I seem to recall at the time of its release the critics were saying how much the song sounded like David Bowie.

He's had a few good idols. No problem sounding like Bowie or John Lennon.
