R.I.P. Adam West - The Original Batman
-
R.I.P. Adam West He passed away at 88. Tributes have been making the news and there is not a single person who has had anything negative to say. It was very touching to read all the wonderful tributes about him. Adam West was the original Batman. KAPOW! No more Bat Cave.

R.I.P. Adam West! He will always be remembered for portraying the original Batman. I used to laugh so much when I watched that show. I even laughed more when Batman danced! Batman was not a dancer!

It's always interesting to watch the reactions to celebrity deaths. For the jerks, you get polite, careful tributes about their talents and career, but almost nothing about them as a person (Lauren Bacall was one example of this a few years ago). For the celebs who were truly kind and generous people, there's an outpouring of love. Adam West seems to be one of these. Robin Williams was another. All I know is I loved Batman as a kid.

Lauren Bacall could be really nasty. I'll never forget how a few of us were waiting at The Dakota to catch a glimpse of John. We were quietly chatting & laughing when Lauren Bacall came out. She looked at us & screamed: "Who are you people? You leaches!"

Yeah, Bacall was famously a, uh... word that rhymes with "rich." Some years back when she was nominated for an Oscar, I remember reading that it was widely believed she didn't win because so many people disliked her. That said, I saw her on stage in the musical "Applause" circa 1972 and she was dynamite. Talent does not necessarily equal nice! But apparently Adam West was both.

"Cool it, Ringo." Was mentioned in an episode because D ick Grayson was taking drum lessons.

Chad & Jeremy had two with Catwoman.

Have anyone seen what has to be his last commercial. I see it all the time on METV. It also stars his "Butler". Is that the real butler from the show? I can't remember what the commercial was about, but it was kinda cute reference to Batman show.

So many great villains too, but few females.
