Wishes for Paul's New Album?
-
It really doesn't matter who he works with. He's the star. I've never bought any of his albums because of the producer. And if he works with multiple producers, his fans will say he should only have one. If he works with one producer, his fans will say he needs more than one. If he produces it himself, his fans will say he needs outside producers. If he works with longtime colleagues, his fans will say he needs new blood. If he works with new people, his fans will say he should stick with the old people.

Looks like he has to make 5 albums so he can please everyone!!! Naaa, I think he knows what he's doing...and it always turns out better than we even hoped it would... I am really looking forward to it, as I know we all are Hope Luca Perasi covers this one too...a most interesting read about the musical aspects of the songs.

Agree with you completely, love2travel! I'd rather have the album come from Paul's own creativity than from someone else telling him how he should do it

My only hope is that there are no "cringe worthy" tracks.

Paul is so incredibly creative, I've always thought that the different producers act more like a catalyst... Each one draws out a different aspect of Paul's very diverse range of musical skills. I only wish he would film more of the behind the scenes music in progress. It's always so fascinating watching songs bloom...like a most beautiful bouquet of flowers. The genius of an artist... one minute a blank canvas and the next, a masterpiece...

Thanks, love2travel, that's a really good way of looking at it... kind of like a director in a film helps make the characters come alive, and a record producer can be that same kind of catalyst with a recording.

I guess it depends on your meaning of cringe worthy but very few of his albums don't have at least one or two songs that you probably skip when playing it. An example of cringe worthy to me are songs like "Gratitude" and "Bip Bop".
-
I've never heard a song by Paul, or anyone, that actually made me cringe.
-
I can't wait for the new album to be released either! It is a gift that he still makes new music. I am hoping for a rock/ rock n roll oriented album with some ballads. Some songs that I really like from his solo work to give you an idea: Every night, another day, oh woman, oh why, coming up, my brave face, looking for changes, hope of deliverance, calico skies, flaming pie, lonely road, driving rain, your loving flame and only mama knows. To name a few . I am sure it will be a great album... Now the only thing for us to do is wait, while we listen to our favorite Macca songs . Have a nice day everyone!

Looking forward to the new album also, would love to hear more about when it will be released.

Good examples. A couple of time on KOTB I winced a couple of times, not entire songs but those certain moments when his voice just didn't quite make it. Don't get me wrong, though. I AM looking forward to the new album.

Two of my all-time favorite solo McCartney tunes are Average Person and Long Haired Lady. Just saying.

LoL. I kinda agree with I Am Your Singer. Linda singing lead is like Yoko singing lead on a John album. It should never be!! I dont mind Cook of the House as much as I think its meant to be a spoof & Paul's double bass playing is killer.
-
I just hope he's in good voice for the album.

A McCartney 3, or an album with an electronic (very produced) sound. No ballads please.
Electronic is really cool. I really like Linda's singing voice... It blended well with Paul's voice

Don't worry, there is always autotune - lol

Linda was not very good singing lead but way better than Yoko - lol

No accounting for taste. I could live several lifetimes never hearing them again and be just fine.

And I couldn't go a week without hearing both. Just saying.
