It's my 'Macca-versary'!!

Good morning from the UK! I hope you don't mind me sharing with you that today is exactly my 30th 'Macca-versary'; that's to say it's the day I discovered Paul as an artist. I'd known about him since Mull of Kintyre and had liked a few of his singles but wouldn't have called myself a fan. 4th August 1987, I was 19 years old and alone on a touring holiday of Scotland. I was in Oban and it was raining. I only had a few tapes for my Walkman but I was bored with them so walked into Woolworths to escape the rain and have a look at the music. The cover of Wings Greatest caught my eye and as it was reduced I bought it. WOW! I had never heard anything like it, especially Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey and Band on the Run (which I knew of but had never really listened to). Listening to that tape changed my life. That autumn I bought all of Paul's back catalogue which I got to know over the following year. The next autumn I bought all of the Beatles and did the same over that year. I'm a bit of a loner and love the outdoors and the wilderness of Scotland. Over the years Paul's music has been my companion during those times; he came with me for three years at university in South Wales and on my travels all over the world. He is my succour, my saviour and the one constant. As my sister calls it, his music is my 'safe place'. Thankfully my husband understands this and has accompanied me in the UK and in Europe to see the man perform and supports my passion for him. Soo there you go. If you read this, thank you for indulging me. I'm wondering how best I can celebrate this day but I think I will try annoy the family and neighbours by playing Maybe I'm Amazed at full blast when I get home from work later. Oh and may be raise a glass to the great man later on.

It's funny you say that...in honor of anniversary, I present a video I've never seen before (actually I've seen the video within the video - just not Paul documenting the song)...in fact, at first, I thought it was someone 'punking' Paul before I released it was Paul himself....LOL...

Actually misread your post...my last post was based on thinking Mull of Kintyre somehow introduced you to 'Macca-dom'

Everyone should make a pilgrimage to Macca.
