How did all 4 Beatles stay so thin?
-
I find it amazing that all 4 of them stayed so thin. Can't find a picture of any of them (besides childhood) where they looked overweight. Our metabolizing drops rapidly in our 30s & 40s, but all 4 of them got thinner as they aged! What was their secret?

I started a thread on this very subject a few yrs. ago. Apparently, you and I are among the few who have ever noticed and wondered. John looked fantastic while married to Cyn. After that, he changed his diet and looked like he'd escaped from a POW camp much of the time. Exception: He looked good in photos of him during his long weekend, but he wasn't overweight by any means. Just started to look normal again. Ringo has to be on a special diet due to digestional/stomach issues. Don't know how George stayed so thin or how Paul does it.

WEll Paul sweats it off during all of his shows!

Paul is a vegetarian. That explains some of it, I think.

Sex, drugs and rock 'n roll!

Smoking ciggies ? Unfortunately.

John and Yoko followed a macrobiotic diet for years, I believe, which would account for his lean look those years. George was also a vegetarian. I've always thought the rigors of Hamburg, including the Preludin pills, permanently changed their metabolisms.

Sounds like contributing factors. I'm not convinced that vegetarianism makes one slim, though. Would be interested in hearing what others think.

Totally agree with you about being a vegetarian not having anything to do with weight. It doesn't necessarily mean that they take in less calories.

Right, and protein burns fat, so you don't want to be on that diet if you are trying to lose wt. I have vegetarian friends. One is overweight, the others aren't slim.

Yep...they still eat sugars...candy, ice cream, cookies...mmm I'm hungry now. lol

Yes they do. Mine do, too.

Both Ringo and Paul are vegetarian. George was too. John went between being Macrobiotic and vegetarian. I think they all eat (or ate, in George and John's cases) pretty sensibly. http://www.ecorazzi.com/2014/01/30/ringo-starr-credits-vegetarian-diet-for-good-health/ Go Veggie!

Yeah but you get more protein in lentils, chickpeas, pulses, beans (even a tin of baked beans!) than you do in meat. Protein isn't an issue. But a veggie who eats junk as well as protein can be fat

You're all missing the obvious answer. They were all alien clones. Have you ever seen a fat alien?
