Thank you for posting this, Nancy!

That cut out painting of George would be very surprising to see if I was driving along the highway. Very cool!
Took a detour to Benton, IL on the way from Branson, MO to Nashville, TN. In the town square Along the side of the interstate (we got to it from an access road from the other side - it's humongous!) Louise Harrison's house where George stayed George did arrive in America one year before the rest of them to get idea of this country.

Fabulous George is honored like this !!

thanks for sharing! At one time a few years back (pre-Liverpool Legends days), Louise's house open was a bed & breakfast. I think she was running it but I don't quite remember.

Louise had a bed and breakfast in Branson, Mo. for quite a while, which was near an auditorium where she sponsored a Beatles tribute band, and earned some income that way. Remember seeing a few weeks ago though that she closed the business in Branson and is now living in California. Thanks, Nancy for sharing photos of your fabulous road trip enjoyed seeing them, and the tribute to George! On your next road trip, maybe you can be a guest at the Pigman ranch, in Alton, Missouri, near the Arkansas border.... it's where the Beatles stayed for a few days beginning Sept 19, 1964 (50 years ago today! ) Reed Pigman owned the ranch, he was the Beatles' pilot on their aircraft for part of the '64 tour It's been opened as a special Beatles bed and breakfast.

The pic of Louise's house that I posted was the bed & breakfast. My friend who went with me stayed there once, met Louise, and she invited her to her new home in nearby Macedonia. It got late and she let her and her then husband spend the night in a cabin they had on the property! P.S. When we were in Branson we saw Louise's band, Liverpool Legends, at the Caravelle Theater. They had a meet-and-greet after the show.

Thanks, Nancy! Sounds like you had a great experience in Branson! I understood Louise had some kind of a bed and breakfast there too, but in looking up more about it, it seems like there may have just been a restaurant, or dinner with Louise and the Liverpool Legends offer from time to time. Would be interesting to visit the Pigman ranch in southern Missouri, but the prices for a weekend stay are very expensive almost like buying a Gold Hot Sound package

Hi Nancy! Thank you so much for posting this! This is all part of Rock n' Roll history! I can tell that you had a great time, thank you for sharing your experience with us!

You're welcome! We also went in the shop where George bought some records and they still have the original counter and Louise signed it on the 50th anniversary of George's visit. The place used to be a furniture store/record store, but now is an antique store. They had a little section of Beatles stuff and my friend bought a button (the one where Beatles is spelled Beetles)

Ha! I just noticed the VW Beetle in the above pic!
