RINGS!!! It's been too long since I've checked in, having been all wrapped up in seeing Paul as often as I could while the tour is still on. Man, you've been a prolific little budgie, haven't you!? You've certainly got the tension mounting again and I can't wait to learn how this little interaction will affect the two main characters! Hope the writing bug keeps nudging you on -- it's such a wonderful and fantasy-filled mental vacation. {{{HUGS}}} Mim

nice to have you back mi'lady i see you've had a name change. i wouldn't have recognised you! so how often is as often as possible? i've still managed a grand total of no times, but the big OE is looming and i'm getting my hopes up. two exams down, one to go, and then back to the keyboard. i should cahin myself on here. then i'd get a lot done. i couldn't sleep the other night, just kept thinking about paul. it's been quite a while since last time i couldn't sleep for thinking about paul, and it was nice. it ebbs and flows, you know? anyway, i gave up trying and sat here in the dark writing down some ideas. now i just have to work out how to work them in! i get stuck sometimes, because no matter how many good ideas i have for what could happen, i need to invent the series of events that gets us there. i guess i suffer writer's block just like the next person. but right now i'm back on the paul obsession on all burners, as it were, and with more time on my hands and getting closer and closer to coming to europe i'm all geared up to do a bit more writing. i just need to find a strong enough chain

ooh, it really is beautiful! have you cropped it at all, or is that the original size? and i agree, lose the suit then again, one of the things i love about paul is that even with the suit on, or whatever, there's something just as beautiful. know what i mean? he's not just good for, well, you know ... but i can also imagine him in lovely little close, intimate moments. i think that's what i'm really trying to capture in my fan fic. i see pictures of him and linda, and just the way he has her in his arms, i think it's just lovely. billy connolly once said something in one of his shows, and it was something along the lines of the difference between men and women is that women come home and want a cuddle, whereas a bloke would never say to his mate in the pub "no, can't have another one, i want to get home. my wife's promised me a cuddle!" what i see in paul is someone who's not only deeply, deeply sexy, but also who's friendly, trustworthy, caring, loving, understanding, comforting, funny... endearing really. and always at the right time. he's sort of in tune with people. i think that's part of why he's done so well in life, because he's so in tune. anyway, enough of my sentimental rambling, here's another chapter. i like this one...

SIXTY-FIRST INSTALMENT Paul?s mood has gone from cool anger and resentment to jovial optimism in just a moment, and as you walk with him down the street, a spring in his step, your mind turns over the strange events of the past half hour. You slowly go over the things that happened that day leading up to the odd confrontation, and try to work out how the whole thing came about and came to an end so quickly. Stu and you had been working away happily with John pottering about in the background when Paul and George had come in to say hi. Paul had taken Stu by surprise, and Stu had tried to hide all the drawings he had been doing. Why? What was in them that he didn?t want Paul to see? Whatever it was, it seemed to make Paul very mad. You had been too busy with your own little painting to notice what Stu had been concentrating so hard on all afternoon. Then, when Paul had seen the picture of you that Stu must have done that morning, he seemed to remember you were there. He couldn?t get you out of there fast enough! You think through these events again and again to try and work out what the matter was. Then suddenly the answer is obvious. You remember John?s comment about Paul being a jealous bugger. The pictures that afternoon, just like all those of that morning, were portraits of you. This revelation freaks you out just a little bit. Not only has Stuart been obsessively drawing you all day, but Paul finds this so offensive that it seemed to change him, to show a side of him that you?d never seen before and don?t really fancy seeing again any time soon. You try and put the whole matter out of your mind as Paul slows down and turns to you. ?You?re very quiet,? he remarks. ?Everything alright?? ?Yeah, I was just thinking about stuff.? ?Ah,? he says very flippantly. ?Well, how about this place then?? he gestures to the door just ahead under a cafรฉ sign. You shrug and follow him in. It?s a very cosy little tearooms, with soft, dark dรฉcor and low lighting. The greenish wallpaper that meets the dark panelling on the walls has a look about it that suggests age, even though it seems to be in perfect condition. A small amount of watery daylight filters in through little windows with dark red little velvet curtains to remind you of the cold outside, but the air in here is just the right temperature. You both take off jackets and hang them on the other two chairs at the table you choose. ?Tea?? Paul offers, and, after a little nod from you, goes up to the counter, with its glass cabinet and brown top, clean enough to eat off, to order. You gaze at the brown table until he comes back with two cups of tea and two Chelsea buns. ?Hope you?re hungry,? he says with a smile as he places one in front of you and sits down. You cup your hands around your cup to warm them, and blow gently across the top of your tea. ?Are you really alright?? he asks with a look of concern. You raise your eyes to meet his. ?It?s about before,? he decides without your help. You briefly raise your eyebrows in agreement and go back to staring at your tea. ?Did you skip your last class then?? you ask after neither of you has said anything for a few moments. ?Yeah, I? yeah. It was only art.? ?Mm.? Another few moments of silence. ?I?m?? he begins, and then pauses as if he?s considering changing his mind. You stop looking at your tea again and give him an expectant look. He sighs. ?The thought of?? another pause. You keep your eyes on him and now he stares into his cup, as though the answer is in there somewhere, if he could only read tea. ?God. I don?t know,? he says, exasperated. ?It?s not like it?s finders keepers,? he mutters. After a pause, you go to speak, but he opens his mouth first. ?I don?t know how to act in all this,? he says. You?re puzzled by this, but you don?t say anything, opting to wait and see if there?s any more. ?You?? another pause. Whatever he?s trying to say seems to be very difficult to put into words. So far you?ve managed to figure out that it?s something about you and him, and you can guess it probably involves Stu as well. You guessed right. ?He always does that with girls he gets obsessed with. Paints them over and over, like. But I? but you?re my obsession, not his,? he finishes lamely. His obsession? ?Well, not really obsession, I mean I? You know.? You begin to see the funny side of all this and take your eyes off him to sip at your tea. Neither of you have touched your buns. ?Paul, it?s alright you know. I? you seem to think I?m going to get angry at you for whatever the hell it is that?s bothering you. Well I promise I won?t.? ?I know, yeah. Thanks. But it?s just?? another pause, ?ARGH!? he rolls his eyes, frustrated. ?It?s stupid and complicated and I?m just an idiot!? ?I know,? you say. He looks at you. You look back. ?Yeah,? he says. He takes a huge bite of his bun. You smile.

I didn't crop the picture...I just said to Paul..'you lay down there on that bed..and I'll take a picture. He fooled around and wanted me there too...but I HAD to take that photo....so...I acted like I was laying beside him...and then...snapped.... After that...he took off his suit I understand what you're saying...Paul is real love ops: ....he is a wonderful loving person. I would love to have a long, deep, talk with him about the important things of life...and look deeply in his gorgeous eyes, and hold his hands in mine (he can keep his clothes on...if it's neccessary )

Oh, Rings! So nice to have some fantasy to lose myself in after all the shows I've been able to see in the last few weeks!! There's a syndrom of some nature being bandied about on the threads of places he's been/will be in concert and it's characterized as the Post-Paul Depression: after looking forward and preparing so painstakingly for the concerts, the EXTREME high of being there and participating in the concerts, and then the realization that it's all done..... A very desolate place -- comparatively, I know, since we were lucky enough to actually enjoy his performances [sigh]. And then to have you here to bring to us the pressured, tense, emotionally chaotic thrill of adolescent luv with HIM as he must have been back then..!! Well, it just starts the heart going all aflutter Would that it could happen -- even tho knowing about it would inevitably change everything, right? : Always patiently waiting for the next installment.... Mim
