There's a separate thread about the kids from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. See my post there. These kids are genuine heroes. For those on Twitter, I posted links for 3 who are absolutely worth following.

I think that is a noble gesture in light of what happened. I also think that what pushes the AR-15 above and beyond other similar and just as good assault rifles into bad territory is simply what it is called... the AR-15.
I little charades, if I may;
So what we are debating here is an angry flute.

ArmaLite is where AR-15 comes from. They also make Eagle-15's etc. as well.
Automatic Rifle...Assault Rifle seem to be very fitting and appropriate to describe all of them.
There is nothing in the Second Amendment that says guns cannot or should not be regulated, only that "the right to bear arms" cannot be tampered with.

Somehow my last post was modified, the pirate erased. Here's another pirate doing the same thing. (to demonstrate the AR in AR-15)

Former CIA Chief on Trump...
"When the full extent of your venality, moral turpitude, and political corruption becomes known, you will take your rightful place as a disgraced demagogue in the dustbin of history. You may scapegoat Andy McCabe, but you will not destroy America...America will triumph over you"
~ John O Brennan.

So proud of everybody that marched today, including Paul and Nancy! Enough is enough!
I just shake my head when people call these kids leading this movement whiners and cry babies. They have every right to want to feel safe at school, and I'm just baffled at those who don't feel they have that right.

It's usually someone who feels like an outsider and doesn't know how to express themselves. If they grew up in a peaceful society that loved them, educated them and made them feel wanted and useful - and didn't have a shitload of guns - these shootings would never happen.

I really yearn for that peaceful society. Where is it?

I am so sick of Donald Trump’s lies and his breaking laws and charters and basically acting like a buffoon. I can’t wait to move!

Moving will not help. I have not set foot in the United States at any time during his term, though not because of him, and I still have to hear about his sensitive snowflake whining and impotent bullying rants every single day.
You can't turn on CNN International without hearing about him, except when they're bending over backward to make the latest shooter a celebrity. BBC News doesn't exactly admire the man, but they talk about him all the time. Even France 24 can't help themselves.
I bet if you lived on an uncharted archipelago in the Indian Ocean, you'd still hear about the crazy things he says. He ran for president so he could be the center of attention that a cancelled game show could never give him. He has succeeded beyond our wildest nightmares.

Hi folks,
Just thought I'd pop in and invite all good conservative patriots to give me another lecture on what a fatal mistake it is to appease tyrants and dictators.
Any takers?

Hypocrisy has always been a cornerstone of politics, but it's reached jihadi levels of extremism lately. That has nothing to do with conservatism or liberalism. That's what happens when you only have 2 parties controlling everything.
Donald Trump is not a conservative. Genuine conservatives are embarrassed by his narcissism, bigotry, xenophobia, childish behavior and inability to grasp simple concepts like diplomacy and governance. But they will vote for him as long as he's the Republican candidate because party loyalty is more important than anything else.

George Will, about as strong a traditional conservative as you can get, just wrote a column urging readers to vote for Democrats in November and take away the GOP's majorities in Congress. Actual conservatives are disgusted by Trump (not to be confused with invertebrates like Paul Ryan). For many this ghastly family-separation policy at the border was the final straw.

WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!? Young children in dog runs being punished for hugging their brothers/sisters!?!?! What country am I living in???
I grew up with a whole lot of children whose parents were Holocaust survivors. This is looking too much like that already. It is horrendous that someone thinks it’s OK to do that to children & babies who have no idea where their parents are at, much less, do it to try and get an 80 Million $$$ wall built. Why don’t we learn from History?
What was the deal with Melania’s coat? I can just imagine if Hillary did something like that to Bill... TOO CRAZY
