Paul's new album and promotion

I was hearing 3rd or 4th quarter prior to that so it looks to be in line.
Well that makes sense then. I was hoping we'd get the album a bit earlier in the year than that, but better late than never!
How do you think this will affect any live dates he might do this year, Bob? There are rumblings already about some dates in South America in October/November, which would fit nicely with an album release in Q3/4. I presume he wont tour again until after the album release, in which case we might have some months to go before we get any news in that regard. I must admit though, im not overly familiar with his tour patterns - I find them confusing to say the least. I just hope he comes to say hello to us in the UK this year!
Live dates are a mystery right now. Things are dead quiet, only rumors are these South American dates which I tend to doubt they'd be negotiating September shows before the summer shows are done. I find it hard to believe that June, July and August would go without any shows
it's all wait and see at this point. When things drop, they tend to drop quickly

Really looking forward to hearing it, whenever it does come out!!!

Paul does touch on the new album in his latest "You gave me the answer" from Yvonne. It was a good question asking Paul if he has ever intentionally explored "Latin" music and rhythms.
Paul tells us that the new album does have one song that is "decidedly" Latin. He then says that he's not sure the song will make the cut for the final album's track listing. Paul's never been good a song selection for albums over the years so if it doesn't make it onto the album, it's almost a sure thing that it will be better than many of the songs that do make the cut. Wouldn't shock me if it becomes a "B" side that everyone on this board will crave. Anyway, it is a good sign that it appears that he has a lot of songs vieing for a spot on the album. Hopefully more good to great new songs for his "massive Solo" Catalog that is so underrated.
The final part of this "You gave me the answer" episode is "trying to get Paul to give us more info on the new album but they tell us that Paul's lips was sealed on specifics. I'm guessing Fall of this year (September-October) to take advantage of the holiday buying period.

Sadly McCartney does not have a good track record with selecting songs for his albums and picking the best single to promote the new album. Like you have stated before BJ, many songs that don't make the cut are better than songs included on the album. This is where you hope he has a good producer who he will listen to about the songs he needs to select. I agree with you on the release of the new album, don't see it coming out before late fall.

I dreamed I heard part of a new McCartney song and it sounded soooooooooooo good...it's always an experience to actually hear music in a dream (*especially Paul's). I was running around in Tangier, Morroco with Mama (she appears in a lot of my dreams) and heard a snippet there in some kind of shop, and then some wild sounding Arabian music blared out in the desert surrounding the exotic city, quite a contrast to Paul's singing.

Very cool dream and imagery.

Seems right. I can’t see anything out before then.

Yep. I think he may release a single around Labor Day and then the album will follow a few weeks later.

Seems right. October would make 5 years since the last album. The latest I could see would be early 2019.

To be honest, I really expected another one sooner than it will be after "New".

One man said online the song "Early Days" especially excites him to hear Paul's new album. That song IS gorgeous in an understated way and really gets to you, especially the part "May sweet memories of the past always come to you when you need them"--I nearly broke down the other night, hearing that--thanks, Macca, for bringing me so near to being able to cary again--it makes one feel better to be able to cry sometimes, remembering--

Um....... HELLO!
new clues to Pauls new album uploaded to Pauls Facebook and twitter page!!!
BUT WHAT DO THEY MEAN??????
-
ICYMI: just today Paul has posted this mysterious image on all his social media platforms...
Any guesses as to what it is? (Both in terms of what it represents and what it is to be used for - single? Album? Book? Something else??)
Enticing...
-
My guess that this is a cryptic message to us all that news is coming.....
light at the end of the tunnel, or maybe an oncoming train....
-
I agree with the “light at the end of the tunnel” with regards to his new album.
-
I think he may release the album today or tomorrow. Clearly, he's going to be on James Corden's show, and the band has already played two new songs (last night in Liverpool), one of which has leaked out. At least a new single will come out, but I would place a bet on the entire album coming out as a surprise. It's about the only gimmick he hasn't done yet to get attention for a new album.
-
yep, new unreleased song floating out there on You Tube right now...
sounds bouncy and rockish and good....
think the title is "come home to you"?
think we are starting to see and hear that light at the end of the tunnel

No, he’s singing “come on to you.”
