Strawberry Field brick
-
My friend received her brick today! They are also sending a t-shirt and a mug. Cost: about $100 with proceeds going to build a museum on the old site of the orphanage.

I can understand listening to their music. I can see reading a few books to learn more about their crazy story. I can even get behind buying posters and t-shirts. But paying for a small chunk of a demolished building where they spent the tiniest fraction of their lives? All in all (this next part might be painful to read), it's just another brick in the wall.

I know, but my friend is a SERIOUS collector, and it’s for charity, to build a Beatles museum there.

My first thought would be if it is real.

Who is raising money for this museum by selling these bricks, etc ? Is it going to be a Beatles museum ? That would be a great thing for Liverpool. I take it the old Salvation Army orphanage home must of been demolished. Shouldn't it have been heritage listed.

Sorry, I thought it was going to be a museum, but it is for a better cause:

Yes, it never should have been demolished, just like the original Cavern!
But, the building was in such bad shape they had to tear it down.

The t-shirt my friend received. (The mug had same pic on it) Pretty cool!
Funny how that place looked so much like the Dakota.
