Visiting Liverpool for a Week
-
Ahhh, I'm excited!! I'm planning on visiting Liverpool for a week to hit his concert in December.
I'm planning on staying at an AirBnB located over near Liverpool City Centre, so I'm pretty close to everything it sounds like. Does anyone (from the area or familiar with the area) have any particular places they recommend?
Best place to grab fish and chips?
Best place to grab a drink?
Must see locations?
Must do activities?I'm planning on hitting up a few touristy places (museums and such), but definitely love walking off the beaten path and hitting more local scenes.

If you want to see the inside of Paul and John’s boyhood homes, make a reservation now with the National Trust. They book up very quickly like 6 months in advance.

Book the Magical Mystery Tour bus early too:

Thank you!! I'm juuuuust too early to book the home tours in December it looks like - latest I can pull is for November. I'll have to check back in a couple of weeks.
Great ideas, I appreciate it!

You’re welcome. I’ve been to Liverpool 4 times, but they keep building new things, so it’s great every time!
The MMT bus will take to around to all the major sites like Penny Lane and it stops at Strawberry Field and outside their homes so you can get out and take pics. They must have added other stops like the Beatles statues which were not there in 2006 or 2011 when I was there. Go to the Museum of Liverpool just for the Beatles section! Nearby is Fab Four Cafe and gift shop. And of course The Beatles Story at the Albert Docks! Take a cab to 8 Hayman’s Green in West Darby to visit the Casbah Club (check online for advance tickets) The Jacaranda May not be open anymore, but it is at 23 Slater St. Ye Cracke is on Rice St.
And John and Paul met today in 1957!! You have to see St. Peter’s Church and Woolton Hall which is across Church St.

How exciting for you!
Check out the Fab 4 taxi tours! They have several different tours to choose from and take you to all of the Beatles sites you want. You get to spend time there too, not just a quick picture and off you go. The first time I was in Liverpool we lucked out and got to go inside the church hall since the Vicar happened to be at St. Peter's at the time. They do a really good Liverpool history tour too that we took when there in 2016.

Book the Magical Mystery Tour bus early too:
The Fab 4 Taxi Tour is much better than the Magical Mystery Tour - yes, it's more expensive, but it's much longer and takes you to sites that the MMT simply drives past.

Took this in 2016 in front of 20 Forthlin Rd.

:D!!! Such wonderful and great ideas, thank y'all so much!
I'm so excited and planning as much as I an in advance - I'm willing to bet a lot of places are gonna be packed the week of the concert.

I'm so sad...
Tickets sold out in minutes, and the inflated prices from scalpers are well out of my budget.
I was really looking forward to this once in a lifetime experience.

Do people just hang out outside his house? Or are they waiting for something?

There are tour groups of all kinds that come. The only ones who can go inside are ones with reservations through the National Trust.
