It seems Strange to be honest that Paul deemed Wild Life to be a bigger remaster priority than some of the albums still to be done... He has never been very complimentary of it himself ...
Maybe they are TRYING to go somewhat chronologically?
The fact that they (Paul and Capitol) did Wildlife and RRS tells me that they will continue the "Paul McCartney Archive Collection" over the next several years. There were some rumors after Paul resigned with Capitol that the Archive Series would end but thankfully those rumors were dispelled with WL and RRS. I agree that Capitol and Paul made the right decision to release WL and RRS first since they were the oldest albums that hadn't yet been done. I also think that London Town and Back to the Egg will be next since chonologically it would the the next set of Paul albums. I hope they tag these 2 together since it would move the "Archive Collection" at a faster piece. Like WL and RRS there is so much material (CD's and DVD's) during that late era Wings' period.
As a big Paul fan, here would be some of the "Archives" I can't wait to buy:
* London Town and Back to the Egg Remaster - As said above, there is so much material...before his aborted Japan tour, Paul and band did a series of European concerts featuring "live" versions of "Egg and London Town" material" plus all the extra songs that didn't make either "Egg and London Town" albums etc.
* Off the Ground - another period that Paul had a ton of songs that didn't make the OTG album. Paul even released the OTG Complete Works CD ( I think it was a Japan and the Netherlands Release Only) but it is still a rare item to this day. Paul and his OTG band (including Robbie and Hamish) did a World tour where there are many rare "live" versions I would love to have on a bonus disc.
* Run Devil Run - another short lived but fantastis Band that Paul put together after Linda's death to promote Run Devil Run. Besides a Remaster of the Run Devil Run album, I would love ot have a DVD of their shows and a bonus audio disc of many of these "live" versions plus extra songs that didn't make the final Run Devil Run tracklisting.
*Chaos and MAF as a Set - again you have all the extra songs that didn't make it on either album plus the remastered albums. I hope that MAF specifically would get the "remastering" treatment since there was so much negativity surrounding the overall "production and loudness" of the original MAF CD. Conversely the original MAF vinyl apparently did not have this "loudness" like the CD had.
I just hope that we get these packages every year in the future so it doesn't take forever like the "snails pace" we were getting with the "Archive Collection" releases over the last 10 years. If we get annual new "Archive Collection" releases over the next 4-5 years, it could be very exciting for Macca fans indeed.
I’ll bet “Flaming Pie” is next. London/Egg probably 2020. I doubt there will be other Archive releases.

I have the recent Red Rose Speedyway deluxe box (3CD+2DVD+ 1 blue-ray) set which is numbered. Does anyone know how limited of these were issued? Mine appears to be numbered 00000 , does anyone else have one like that?

Keep your eyes open if still looking for RRS.
RRS already sold out. Price was $34.98.

I don't suppose it's an immediate priority, but it would be nice to have on CD, even though I spent a ridiculous amount of money on the LP.

Absolutely!! I completely agree. Especially to be able to listen to it in the car.

I don’t suppose anyone has heard any whispers as what the next Archive Collection sets might be? As all but two of the Wings albums have had Archive editions released, I would imagine we’ll get London Town and Back to the Egg at some stage…at least I would hope so anyway.
I have to say I’m a huge fan of these deluxe sets, expensive as they are. In an ideal world it’d be great to have Archive sets of all the post-Beatles albums, though realistically I doubt that will happen. If/when the series of deluxe box sets does eventually come to an end, perhaps smaller expanded editions of the remaining albums would be in order, with a bonus audio disc of associated outtake/unreleased material and new liner notes.

Interesting. Flaming Pie would certainly be a very welcome addition to the series if this is indeed the case. A classic album now and a big personal favourite of mine.

Yeah, mine too. I do wish, however, that priority were given to the Beatles catalog....first and foremost. Yes, we're getting "Abbey Road," which is great. But what about "Rubber Soul" and "Revolver" and all the other albums that need deluxe treatments and updated sound? Everything should have been remixed instead of just remastered back in 2009. They used all that time, and..............we paid all that money, and then they start improving the sound! One by one by one, which at this rate will take a very long time!

Flaming Pie would certainly be a surprise to me. I say that because the Flaming Pie era doesn't have that much extra material built around it. Because of Linda's sickness, Paul wasn't touring at the time and from my knowledge, the album didn't have many extra songs left off the album. Maybe as a smaller Archive release (2 CD package) it could work well as a Holiday/Christmas release. I did buy the Flaming Pie DVD that was very good and that could be part of the Archive package as well. On the DVD, Paul does play several of the Faming Pie tracks and they were just fab.
The reason that Flaming Pie would be a surprise as the next Macca Archive Collection is that the combination of London Town and Back to the Egg as the next release would have so much more material that in my opinion, Macca fans would love to have. Not only do you have the singles/B-sides that were left off both albums, but you have unreleased songs never included on either album like Waterspout, Cage etc.) Couple that with the live material during the period (e. g. Wings Over Europe) and you would have a ton of material to draw from.
I certainly wouldn't mind Flaming Pie for the end of this year but I would prefer London Town and Back to the Egg for the reasons above. I do love the Flaming Pie album in general. I do think the good to great songs on FP are some of his best Solo songs period (Beautiful Night, Little Willow, Somedays, Calico Skies, Young Boy, Great Day, Souvenir) but I wasn't a fan of some of the lesser songs. I always thought Really Love You really marred Flaming Pie. It was basically an over 5 minute jam song with Ringo that in my opinion that was way too long and should have been left off of Flaming Pie. Replace "Really love You" with another really good song and Flaming Pie would be right up there with Chaos and Tug of War as Paul's best Solo albums in my opinion.

What “Flaming Pie DVD” are you talking about BJ? I have seen video of him playing Calico Skies to Linda - is this what you’re thinking of?

I think they might even struggle to fill a 2 CD package as there doesn't appear to be many unreleased / non-album tracks from that period as you say. If they did need to pad out a deluxe release tough, then as well as the 'In the world tonight' dvd, they could add various promo activities such as the EPK, the unreleased London MPL office rooftop performance, the 'Bishopsgate' promo, various tv appearences etc. Also there was the radio special that could be included to a montage of photos from that period. At a push, they might even include the 'Standing Stone' project which was occuring during this same period. I'm sure where there's a whiff of making money, MPL will be able to cobble together enough material to release.

Nancy,
As Kestrel mentioned, the DVD was actually called "In the World Tonight". If you don't have it, I would really suggest you try to get it. I loved the DVD and I know you love FP. It really could have been called...the making of Flaming Pie. You see Paul performing most of the great songs from the album. In particular, I loved Paul performing Little Willow, Calico Skies (as you mentioned) and Great Day. I'm sure you've seen Paul singing and dancing to "In the World Tonight" with the Boom box.

Amazon has In The World Tonight DVD.
The other thing you mentioned - the 1971-1973 Box Set? Is this the one you mean? It is sold out here, where I originally got it. You might try eBay.
P.S. It contains eleven discs!

Are yours all legit releases? There are many bootleg versions too. One called Flaming Pie Sessions, also Flaming Pie Telecasts among others to search out.

^ When I wrote "I have it" I was referring to the DVD "In The World Tonight" that BJ was taking about. Like I told love2travel, you can get it through Amazon (secondary sellers) As far as I know it is a legit release. The DVD says MPL on it.
