George Harrison and Eric Clapton Japan
-
In 1992, I bought a double album on cassette (Wish I could have afforded the vinyl) called, Live in Japan.
It's an amazing album of many old, and current, tracks written by George which he performed during a 1991 tour of Japan with Eric Clapton.
Some of the stars that were on stage with George and Eric were:
Ringo Starr, Phil Collins, and Mark king.

@wonky-b Loved that album!!!!

@wonky-b I went to that show in London, definitely no Eric, and I definitely don't recall the others also, except for Ringo.

I only have the album downloaded on one of my laptops off iTunes (Live In Japan) Eric Clapton is definitely on that album, but not Ringo. Are you sure that YouTube video isnβt perhaps from some other concert they did?

@wonky-b you're mixing it up with when George did two songs on the prince's trust concert in 1987. I remember being so excited as a kid when this was on telly. It was one of those benefit shows with lots of stars, Ringo Elton and Phil were on it too.
Paul played on the 1986 princes trust concert.

@eeee-cor-blimey Thanks for clearing that up!

@njr I distinctly remember George saying Eric Clapton loaned George his band ( George never had a band of his own at that point ) maybe that's where the confusion lies. I know for sure no Eric Clapton played onstage with George when I saw him at the RAH in London. I wouldnt forget a thing of that epic proportions.

I'm so envious you saw him in 92! That albert hall show though was a separate entity than the 91 Japan shows - it was the 1992 General election in the UK and that one off show was to raise money and publicity for the natural law party, they had a candidate in every seat and were a meditation group who believed in "yogic flying"! George was in all the national news that week plugging them, but the fact it gave everyone a British George concert was the main excitement!
So I think that was why he used the same musicians but not eric. I was so jealous at the time. Well done for going -

@eeee-cor-blimey I don't think I could add much more to that really. You got it pretty much spot on. I was just disappointed there were no t shirts on sale. Actually I don't remember any programmes also. Only concert I ever went to where there was no merchandise for sale. But still it was a great show
