My Visit To Ringo's Child hood Home In Liverpool

@njr Yes. But John was basically saying ( in a nutshell) Ringo just fitted in better. I agree with John. Let's face it, having a career in a successfull band is not a normal career. Especially when you are touring. At the end of the day (or night) you don't clock out and go home to your family. The band IS your family. And if you are just starting out and poor, you literally have to sleep together in the same bed. Maybe not 4 to a bed, but certainly 2 in one bed, and 2 in another bed, because you simply can't afford 4 hotel rooms. Paul tells the story of them travelling home from a gig, no heating in the van, snow pouring down outside, I think he said the van also had no windscreen, so the 4 of them huddled together for warmth, like a "Beatle sandwich". If you are living like that then you had pretty darned better be a "better Beatle" and get along well with each other.

Yes, I understand that John meant Ringo fit in better.
And I think the only time Paul & John actually slept in the same bed was when they hitchhiked to France and stayed at some farmer’s house in England. (Or maybe it was Paul & George when they hitchhiked around England) When they were in Hamburg they had bunk beds and when they were on tour they had twin beds (2 in each of 2 rooms) The story about being in the van was that it was winter and something cracked the windshield (windscreen) and Neil & Mal had to punch the whole thing out, so they were so cold they slept on top of each other (rotating as to who got to be warmer on the bottom) All this info I’ve learned over the years and Mark Lewisohn speaks in great detail about in it his book Tune In (Vol.1) that came out in 2013. Vol. 2 had better come out no later than 2024 or I will be very pissed! When he released Vol. 1 he said he was 40% done with Vol. 2! It shouldn’t take over 10 years to finish the rest. We’ll all be dead by the time Vol. 3 comes out! -
@wandy Here’s an article I found. Still researching.

@njr perhaps you can't find it because it is an Urban Legend who knows. I tapped the red speech bubble to send you this reply.
